Chapter 231 She Knew Well That Those Outstanding Men Could Never Truly Accept Her
"So, what should I do now?" Violet handed back the documents to Quentin.
"First, we need to prove the authenticity of this agreement, but it's going to be challenging," Quentin said seriously. "Secondly, we have to demonstrate that your mother was deceived when she signed the agreement, which will make it impossible for us to win."
Both tasks seemed daunting, and Violet didn't know where to start.
"It's been many years since my mother signed this agreement. It's going to be difficult to gather evidence. What should we do?" Violet asked, feeling a sense of helplessness.
Seeing her distress, Quentin immediately reassured her in a gentle voice, "Don't worry. I'll figure out a way with the evidence."
"Thank you." Violet was grateful for his willingness to help, not knowing what else to say.
Her beautiful face was filled with unease.
"Don't mention it. Since I've taken on your mother's case, I will do my best to assist you," Quentin said with a gentle smile. "Besides, you're my cousin's best friend. How could I not help?"
"Thank you." Violet expressed her gratitude once again.
"Violet, don't be so polite." Just as Violet finished expressing her thanks, Emily walked over with a small pot of tea, joining the conversation. "Quentin is a really good person, and he's an elite."
"Emily, stop flattering me." Quentin interrupted her compliments, not wanting others to say too many nice things about him in front of Violet. "Is the tea ready?"
"Yes, try it." Emily placed the teapot on the table and poured a cup for each of them. "I made it myself. I learned from a master who is a leading figure in the tea art world."
"Then I must give it a try." Quentin smiled, picked up the teacup, took a sip, and found the tea's flavor refreshing, with a lingering aroma of rose petals.
Emily had truly mastered the skill.
"Not bad."
"Of course, it's not bad. Otherwise, it would not be worth it for me to spend so much time and energy to learn it." Emily playfully raised her chin and said to Violet, "Violet, you should try it, too."
"Okay." Violet picked up the teacup and took a sip. It was really fragrant. "It's really good."
Hearing both of them praise the tea, Emily became even happier. "Then have some more."
"Oh, Violet, I heard from Quentin that you're going to live here?" Quentin, putting down his teacup, couldn't help but ask.
He was curious why she suddenly moved here.
"Because I'm planning to change jobs, so I looked for a place first." Violet still trusted Quentin. Perhaps it was because Quentin would help her with the lawsuit, so she didn't plan to hide anything and said truthfully. "Emily has been so kind to me. She rented this great place to me."
"I see." Quentin understood and smiled. "It's nice to stay here. I also live nearby, so it will be convenient for us to communicate."
"Quentin, don't tell me you are interested in Violet," Emily noticed. Quentin seemed to be interested in Violet so that she couldn't help but tease him.
Quentin smiled without refuting as if he had admitted it.
Violet felt embarrassed and awkward, and her face turned slightly red. She had never thought of having any connection with Quentin, an elite lawyer. After all, she was the mother of two babies and an unmarried single mother. She was well aware that those outstanding men could never truly accept her.
"It can’t be possible. I'm just an ordinary woman," Violet coughed awkwardly and said.
Quentin noticed that Violet seemed to be a bit down, so he said, "Let's not stop here. Violet might feel embarrassed."
"Okay, let's talk about something else." Emily didn't want to make Violet feel awkward, so she didn't say much.
"Okay."
