Chapter 392 Everyone in the Design Circle Knew About It
Violet nodded quickly, "Yeah, that's it. I wanted to ask Brady for some help, and we ended up chatting a lot—about the DeVere family, my mom, and he had some stuff to handle too, so I waited for him in the study."
"It took a bit longer than I expected," Violet said, trying to sound casual.
Hellen looked half-convinced. She didn't want to doubt Violet but was still worried.
Violet quickly reassured her, "Hellen, chill. I remember everything you said. I won't let anyone take advantage of me. Just relax."
"Violet, it's not that I don't trust you. I'm just really worried," Hellen said, concerned. "You're my only family now. I don't want you and the kids to go through any crap."
Violet hugged Hellen, her eyes a bit teary. "Hellen, I get it. You really don't need to worry."
"Okay, I'll trust you," Hellen said, hugging her back.
The night finally passed without any drama, but Fanny couldn't sleep at all. She'd been fired by Max and wouldn't get a shot at tomorrow's show.
Fanny was fuming and needed to blow off some steam.
Fanny wasn't the type to take crap lying down, so after thinking it over, she drove to Laura's place.
She knew Laura could help her. So she floored it and sped to Laura's apartment complex.
Fanny parked, got out, and headed straight to Laura's apartment.
She rang the bell a bunch of times before the door finally opened.
It was clear Laura wasn't thrilled to see Fanny, and she already knew Fanny had been canned by Max. In Laura's eyes, Fanny was useless now.
But she couldn't completely cut ties, as they had schemed against Violet together before, and Laura was a bit wary of Fanny spilling the beans.
So Laura looked at the desperate Fanny, showing no concern or comfort, and instead calmly invited her in, saying, "Fanny, it's so late. What's up?"
"Laura, you know why," Fanny said anxiously, biting her lip as she followed her in. "You have to help me now."
Laura turned around, grabbed a cup from the table, and poured some water, saying, "Fanny, don't be in such a rush. Sit down and have some water."
Fanny wasn't in the mood for water; she was almost frantic. This whole mess was her fault for being too impulsive, which led Max to fire her.
"Laura, you really have to help me. If you don't, no one else will," Fanny said, ignoring the water cup and clutching Laura's pajama sleeve like a lifeline, almost losing it.
Fanny was terrified of being jobless. She'd already made headlines, making things even trickier.
Everyone in the design industry knew about it.
How could Fanny continue in the design world after this?
She couldn't let her career go down the drain. She still wanted to be a famous designer, but now, because of Violet, that dream was slipping away.
Now, it was hard to even get into another design company. Fanny was really stuck.
"Fanny, I saw what happened. You were too impulsive. Why couldn't you just hold back? You knew how close Violet and Mr. Green are," Laura said, putting the untouched water cup aside.
"Now's not the time to talk about that. I need your help." Fanny, being not a rookie, heard the evasiveness in Laura's words and got even more anxious. She stepped up to Laura, grabbed her collar, and almost lost it. "Are you planning not to help me?"
"Tell me, are you? You don't want to help me?" Fanny kept asking.
