Chapter 171 He Reserved the Entire Restaurant for Her

Seeing Violet's silence, Brady's lips curled in satisfaction. He then flipped the switch, allowing light to flood back into the car interior.

Soon, the Bentley pulled up to a posh Italian restaurant.

The car stopped at the entrance, where an attendant immediately bent over to open the door for Brady Hall.

As the car door swung open, Violet stepped out first, followed closely by Brady.

Glancing at the luxurious restaurant and the man beside her, Violet pondered for a moment before trying to make a run for it, but Brady, as if reading her mind, quickly caught her wrist before she could escape.

He pulled her in, his voice low, "Where do you think you're going?" With that, he led her across the gleaming marble floors of the restaurant.

Violet was at a loss for words.

She had enough of this man. Did he even understand the concept of respecting a girl?

Obviously not.

He was the very epitome of arrogance.

Forcing herself to calm down, Violet acknowledged there was no escape now. She might as well go along with him for the meal.

She was going to resign soon anyway.

Finally calming down, she ceased her futile struggles and, with lips pressed tight, followed Brady to the window-side table he had reserved.

They took their seats.

However, as Violet settled in, she glanced around the excessively lavish restaurant.

Why were there no other customers?

Just the two of them?

Wasn't it the usual time for dinner?

What was going on?
As Violet Devereux mulled over her suspicions, the man seemingly read her thoughts and said, "I've reserved the whole place. Eat whatever you like."

It meant she didn't have to be self-conscious; no other diner would be there to watch her.

She could dine in peace.

Truth be told, Violet hadn't anticipated the exclusive reservation. She wanted to say something but thought better of it—it could be another trap.

So, she chose silence.

After sitting down, she reached for her glass and started with water.

"The oyster stew here is famous. Want to try some?" Brady Hall, flipping through the black menu on the table, casually asked Violet.

"The treat's on you, Mr. Hall. Whatever you prefer," she replied, not wanting to take advantage of his generosity.

Better to keep things simple.

"But how can I order for you if I don't know your preferences?" He handed her the menu as he spoke.

Taking the menu, Violet hesitated for a few seconds before looking down and browsing through it.

Brady lifted his glass with an ease that matched the slow sip of his water.

At that moment, sunshine streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a half-oval of light and shadow across their table—a stroke of beauty in the space between them.

If Violet had less self-awareness, she might have fallen for this handsome man in such a cozy, enchanting dining environment, just like any other girl.

But she wouldn't. She was constantly on guard around Brady Hall.

He was Henry and Nicole's father, and to avoid losing her custody rights, she had to remain resolute.

Violet flicked through the menu and made a few hasty selections before passing it back to Brady. He glanced at her choices, made no comment, but added a couple of the pricier soups to her order.

Closing the menu, he handed it to the server to place their order.

The waitress, attempting not to stare too intensely, couldn't help but notice Brady Hall's striking good looks.

So handsome.

As she took the menu back to the front desk and passed on the order to the kitchen, she whispered to another waitress in excitement.

"Did you see that guy? So hot, right?"

"I did. That girl's lucky to have such a good-looking boyfriend," the other waitress replied.

"Or maybe not a boyfriend, could be a friend with benefits?" She questioned whether the girl deserved such a handsome man.

"No way. Think about it; he booked the entire restaurant for them. Doesn't sound like just a friend with benefits to me."
"Yeah, I heard booking this restaurant for a day costs a cool $50,000. Maybe the guy's really loaded—could he be her boyfriend?"

"I'm so jealous. When will I find a guy generous and handsome enough to book out a place just for me?"

"In your dreams."

They both chuckled quietly to themselves and went on gossiping as the dishes Violet Devereux and her party ordered started to arrive.
