Chapter 758 All These Years Lucien Has Been Unreconciled to Violet

"Do you think he's got some hidden agenda? You should watch out," Brady said, the jealousy he felt earlier now fading.

He was confident in himself.

Violet wouldn't just run off with someone else.

Violet was taken aback, surprised by Brady's keen observation.

Was Darian's interest in her that obvious?

"What? You didn't notice?" Brady asked, seeing her surprised expression.

He reached out and gently pinched her chin.

Violet shook her head, thinking it over.

She decided to come clean.

After all, if she managed to secure Darian as a designer to collaborate with JK, they'd be seeing each other often.

Plus, given their past, Brady was bound to misunderstand.

"Sweetheart, there's something I need to tell you." Violet took a deep breath, looking at him earnestly.

Brady's eyes focused on her. "What is it?"

Violet held his hand, biting her lip, feeling a bit awkward. "I know him. He's an old high school classmate, a year ahead of me."

"He used to pursue me, but I turned him down."

"Of course, I don't think he still has feelings for me. I'm married with a child now!"

Violet carefully observed her husband's expression, relieved to see he didn't seem angry. She relaxed a bit.

Even if Brady wanted to be angry, it wouldn't be at her. She had made her stance clear. The issue now was that man.

"I get it," Brady said, his earlier suspicions confirmed.

This guy did have some designs on Violet.

"Don't be mad. My interactions with him are strictly professional. I just want to help JK grow and not embarrass you," Violet said, kissing his palm like a kitten, trying to be affectionate.

Brady felt his palm heat up from her kiss.

He reached out and held her soft, white hand. "Don't worry about it. I know what's up. It's late, let's go to bed."

Violet obediently got up and followed him to the bedroom.

But as soon as they left the study, Brady bent down and scooped her up.

His strong chest pressed against her, and Violet, remembering their earlier intimacy, blushed deeply.

She quickly grabbed his cotton T-shirt and said, "I'm heavy now, you can't carry me."

"Who says? I'm carrying you, aren't I?" Brady smiled, kissing her flushed cheek.

"I'm afraid I'm too heavy," she said, now weighing almost 115 pounds.

She used to be only 90 pounds.

She had gained a lot of weight during her pregnancy.

"You're not heavy. If I can't carry this weight, all my muscle training would be for nothing." Brady paused, then suddenly said, "We didn't finish earlier. You need to cooperate with me, okay, sweetheart?" With that, he quickly carried her into the bedroom.

Violet's already shy face turned an even deeper shade of red.

At Darian's place, a high-end apartment he bought last month.

It was close to the business district and, of course, close to the Hall Group.

After ending the video call, Darian downed his drink in one go, feeling a burning sensation spread through his body.

It was like a fire was raging inside him.

He recalled Violet's pure, beautiful profile as she looked at her husband during the call.

The resentment that had tormented him for several years flared up again, haunting his already chaotic heart.

This torment made him grab his glass and smash it onto the floor.

He stood up, barefoot, and walked over the broken glass, not caring as it cut into his feet, leaving them bloody.

He went straight to his bedroom and pulled out a stash of syringes from his safe.

He took one out along with a small bottle of clear liquid.

With practiced ease, he drew the liquid into the syringe, then closed his eyes, savoring the moment as he plunged the needle deep into his arm.

He pushed the plunger, injecting the numbing and stimulating liquid into his body.

As soon as the injection was done, Darian's vision filled with colorful hallucinations.

He fell back onto the bed, sinking into the euphoric world he had created in his mind.

In that world, Violet lay naked on the grass, waiting for him to take her.

He made her act like a dog, and she obediently became his pet. He made her kneel and call him master, and she did.

Lucien was right. All these years, he just couldn't let go of Violet.
