Chapter 394 She Definitely Knows How to Erase the Evidence

Laura's apartment was this old, run-down complex. No cameras outside, just a few on the ground floor and in the elevator. So, she dodged all the cameras and nosy neighbors by taking the stairs down, then sneaking back to the elevator and hitting the button to go back up.

During the whole time, Laura kept her hood up and her head down, so the elevator cam only caught her body, not her face.

When she got out of the elevator, she quickly unlocked her apartment door and went inside to clean up the mess.

When she smacked Fanny earlier, she didn't mean to kill her. But with a hit like that, Fanny was probably gonna stay out cold, maybe even end up in a coma or in a vegetative state.

At that point, no one would point fingers at Laura, and she wouldn't have to worry about Fanny snitching or causing trouble.

To make sure she didn't leave any clues and avoid police suspicion, Laura first burned the clothes she wore and dumped the ashes down the drain. Once everything was clean, she went to the living room and whacked the back of her own head a few times with the blood-stained vase. When she felt dizzy enough, she held her forehead, staggered around, and called the cops.

Within 5 minutes, both the police and an ambulance showed up and took them to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The news of their attack spread quickly to Max, Violet, and even Brady.

As employees of the Hall Group, this was a big deal. Especially since tomorrow was a huge day for the fashion show.

If any reporters got wind of this, it would definitely mess with JK's future brand plans. So when Max heard the news, he rushed to the hospital to see what was up.

Brady's assistant, Eddy, filled him in on the situation.

Brady didn't want to get directly involved, so he told Eddy to help Max check things out.

After hanging up, Brady told Violet about the incident.

Violet was shocked at first but then got suspicious and asked, "How could they both get attacked at the same time?" She was curious why they were together so late at night.

Brady twirled his phone, his eyes narrowing slightly, and said, "It might have something to do with tomorrow's fashion show, or not."

JK was just a small design brand under the Hall Group, even though Brady wanted to make it big.

Such a small brand wasn't really a big deal to the Hall Group.

So, it probably wasn't someone hostile to the Hall Group. That left two options: either they were really attacked, or it was a competitor of JK.

Of course, these were just Brady's guesses.

The details would have to wait for the police investigation.

"Fanny got fired by Mr. Green today, and then this happens at Laura's place tonight." Violet thought it wasn't that simple.

"What do you mean?" Brady asked, seeing Violet deep in thought.

"They both targeted me when they were at JK." Violet didn't know the details of the attack, so she just told Brady about her past experiences.

She continued, "About that poisoning incident, I did wonder if it was one of them, but I've got no proof, so I can't go around accusing people. I'm only telling you this."

Brady had been looking into the poisoning incident but hadn't found anything, "To be honest, I've been investigating your poisoning case, but the person was too slick and didn't leave any clues."

"If she dared poison me at JK, she definitely knew how to cover her tracks." Violet figured that if Brady and the cops hadn't found anything by now, the culprit really knew her stuff.
