Chapter 921 He Regrets Not Being Firm
Brady and Arthur rushed back to the villa, and as expected, the brightly lit living room was empty except for the unconscious male servant lying on the floor.
Julie and Violet were gone.
So, those people took Violet?
Brady's eyes darkened, his gaze turning icy. His hands, hanging by his sides, clenched tightly, his knuckles cracking.
"Brady, do you remember where their base is?" Arthur stood beside him, glancing at him, knowing he must be furious right now.
After a moment of thought, he asked.
Brady snapped back to reality, his eyes cold as steel under the villa's fluorescent lights.
"I went there once, but it's been years. Who knows if they've moved? Organizations like theirs do so many shady things; no matter how rich they are, they can't operate in the open."
So, he couldn't be sure if they were still in the same old place after all these years.
Maybe, like the last group, they had gone from an underground force to a legitimate one?
Vesperia was full of unstable elements.
Brady really couldn't be sure.
"Here's the plan: we split up. One group goes to the area you know to look for them, and the other questions the man we captured to find out where they are now," Arthur suggested.
Brady gave a brief nod, feeling extremely agitated.
Miles' organization was even more ruthless than the last group. He was worried about Violet.
This extreme agitation made his face tense. He then walked over to the sofa and sat down, rubbing his temples with one hand, his voice filled with regret. "Arthur, I should have been firmer this afternoon and made her stay in Crestoria. But when she started pleading with me, I just couldn't say no."
Nothing made him softer than Violet's pleas.
Arthur listened, his gaze lowered, and slowly walked over, saying, "Brady, now's not the time for self-blame. You have to believe that she and Julie will be okay. And think about it, they've been on the island for a while but haven't made a move. Why do you think that is?"
Brady looked up, pondering for a moment. "What do you mean?"
"They probably know you're on the island, so they don't want to provoke you," Arthur analyzed rationally. "So, I think Violet is safe. The question is whether she went with Julie willingly or was taken along."
"I'd rather believe she went with Julie."
"So, stop blaming yourself and getting agitated. We need to find their base quickly to rescue them."
Arthur made sense. Brady listened quietly, and his earlier agitation from self-blame and worry began to subside.
Then, as if he remembered something, he sprang up from the sofa and said to Eddy, who had followed them, "Eddy, bring that man here. I need to interrogate him."
"Yes, Mr. Hall," Eddy responded quickly and went to get the man.
Brady stood in the living room for a moment, then glanced at the still-unconscious male servant.
He gave Bob a look, and Bob, understanding Brady's intent without needing words, quickly went inside and brought out a basin of cold water.
He walked over to the unconscious servant, lifted the basin, and poured the water over the man's head.
The cold water jolted the servant awake instantly.
As he regained consciousness, he saw Brady standing in front of him and quickly scrambled to his feet, bowing low. "Mr. Hall."
But as soon as he finished his greeting, he realized something was wrong.
Where were Violet and Julie?
