Chapter 388 Violet Didn't Take the Kids Out for Avoiding Brady
Fanny was kinda shocked by Max's harsh tone, but she wasn't about to take all the heat. She bit her lip and shot back, "I had doubts that Violet might be copying or getting help. Can't I suspect that?"
She kept going, "Mr. Green, you've always been all about Violet. Everyone at JK knows it. Care to explain?"
Max's face turned red, and he snapped, "Fanny, do you even wanna work at JK anymore?"
"Yeah, I do. But what's wrong with speaking the truth?" Fanny fired back.
Max thought Fanny was a lost cause; she was so stubborn, thinking she did nothing wrong, which was just nuts.
The online buzz about JK was awful now; everyone thought JK was just pulling a stunt for attention.
And she still didn't think she was wrong!
Max really thought Fanny was out of her mind.
"Now's the time to think about JK's interests, not personal drama. And how am I biased towards Violet? I treat all of you the same," Max said coldly.
Fanny laughed, "The same? Say that again. What about taking Violet to Elysium Springs? Can you honestly say you had no personal motives?"
Fanny went on, "You can't, can you? 'Cause you did have personal motives. Everyone knows Violet's too young to represent JK at Elysium Springs, but you took her anyway. Care to explain why?"
Max finally got why Fanny had trashed Violet at the media conference earlier. It was all about the Elysium Springs thing, which wasn't even his call.
It was Brady who picked her.
Could Fanny accuse Brady of being biased towards Violet?
No way.
Brady must've had his reasons, and Max had no reason to doubt him.
"Fanny, now I get why you're gunning for Violet. I don't think you should stay at JK anymore. You're off tomorrow's show." Max felt there was no point in talking to her anymore. She had no professional ethics and no intention of making things right.
JK couldn't keep someone who stirred up trouble like her.
"Mr. Green, are you firing me?" Fanny's face fell, and she screamed, "Why? Just 'cause I'm telling the truth?!"
"Is this the case, Fanny?" Max thought Fanny was hopeless. The real issue wasn't that she was telling the truth, but that she was out of line.
"Don't say anything more. Go back to JK and resign today. I'll give you last month's quarterly bonus." Max turned to leave.
Watching him walk away, Fanny suddenly realized she had been impulsive. She couldn't leave JK now, so she frantically chased after him.
In the small office at the show venue, Brady and Violet were getting cozy. After a while, Brady let go of her and asked, "How about taking the kids on a road trip this weekend?"
Violet was surprised. "This weekend?"
"Yeah, I noticed you and the kids are stuck at home all day. You probably don't take them out much, do you?" Brady said pointedly.
Violet nodded a bit sheepishly. "I don't."
She had been avoiding him, which was why she didn't want to take the kids out.
Brady said, "Then it's settled."
Violet hesitated for a moment but then nodded.
Given that the kids hadn't gone out to play for a long time, she agreed reluctantly.
Violet thought she couldn't be too selfish.
