Gerry stormed outto buy a bottle of liquor. He twisted off the cap and took several swigsto muster the courage to confront Violet.
He knew that Lilian must have been hidden by her.
Because Lilian had offended her before, she was definitely out for revenge!
Even without Brady's protection, she must have made enough money to hire someone to deal with Lilian.
So, Gerry hailed a cab to the Hall Group building.
When he arrived, the security guards wouldn't let him in.
Gerry said aggressively, "Do you know who I am? I'm the father of Violet. I need to see her!"
The guard doubted it.
So, the guard said, "Sir, it's working hours now. Please don't cause trouble. If you want to see Ms. Devereux, I'll contact her for you."
"Then contact her! What are you waiting for?" Gerry glared at the guard, using his former CEO demeanor to scold him.
The guard wanted to throw him out but remembered company policy not to expel anyone without cause.
He asked a colleague to watch Gerry while he called Violet.
Meanwhile, Gerry continued drinking, his disheveled appearance causing Hall Group clients and staff to frown.
Then the guard had to take him to the security room.
In the security room, the guard said, "Wait here. Ms. Devereux will be down shortly."
"See, I told you she's my daughter." Gerry laughed.
His laugh was eerie, causing the surrounding guards to ignore him.
Soon Violet walked into the security room, looking impatient.
She could have ignored Gerry, but to prevent him fromgiving Brady any headaches, she had to come down.
She knew that if she didn't see him, he would find a way to make a scene.
Entering the security room, Violet's eyebrows furrowed, and she said, "What's up?"
"Violet, you finally agreed to see me?" Gerry looked at Violet with bleary eyes.
It seemed like he was about to strangle Violet in the next second.
And that illusion quickly became reality.
Fueled by his drunkenness, Gerry suddenly grabbed Violet's neck, and said, "You bastard, what are you trying to do to our Devereux family? Don't you realize you're also a Devereux? Where have you hidden Lilian?"
He continued to choke Violet.
Gerry's grip was strong, and Violet's face turned purple as she struggled to pry his fingers off. But she couldn't break free.
Fortunately, the surrounding guards intervened.
They finally pulled Gerry away, but he didn't stop cursing at Violet, "Tell me, where did you hide Lilian? Youwant to take revenge on us? You're a bastard. I should never have let you be born! I curse you to be unhappy forever!"
