Chapter 1078 Darling, No One Can Tempt Me Except You
"It's all your fault. Why do you always attract so many crazy women? It's so annoying," Violet grumbled.
Brady reached out and gently stroked her hair. "Can't help it; I'm just too irresistible."
"But in my heart, there's only you. Even if other women stood naked in front of me, I wouldn't feel a thing."
"You're such a flirt," Violet said, enjoying his unique affection but still giving him a hard time.
"It's the truth. Like right now, looking at you makes me want to kiss you," Brady continued to sweet-talk her.
Violet's ears turned red from his words. "I'm driving!"
"Okay," Brady said, not pushing further. He added sincerely, "Honey, no one can tempt me except you."
In this lifetime, he was completely smitten with her.
The next day, Aria took the morning off due to the car accident, allowing Violet to visit Emily in the hospital.
Emily had been recovering well over the past couple of days, mainly because Austin hadn't dared to bother her.
So, her mood was good, and she was recovering quickly.
Moreover, Douglas had already fired Austin, which made Emily even happier.
After two days in bed, she felt the urge to get up and walk around.
Elodie, worried that Emily hadn't fully recovered, disagreed with her getting up. The mother and daughter bickered for a while until Violet arrived with some fruit.
As soon as she walked in, she heard Emily complaining, "Mom, I'm really fine now. Look, I've been eating and sleeping well these past two days. I'm really okay."
Elodie wouldn't budge. "No way. The doctor said you need plenty of bed rest. You stay put."
Emily was about to lose it. She didn't want to stay in bed any longer.
Just as she was about to argue further with Elodie, she saw Violet walk in.
Emily's eyes lit up. "Violet, you're just in time. I'm going stir-crazy here."
Hearing this, Violet saw how lively Emily looked and felt relieved. She walked over, placed the fruit on the bedside table, and said, "The doctor said more bed rest is good for you. You should stay in bed."
Emily's bright face instantly fell, and she said with a look of despair, "Violet, why are you siding with my mom?"
Violet burst out laughing. As she peeled an orange for Emily, she said, "I'm siding with the doctor."
"But I really feel fine, and walking around helps with recovery, right?" Emily said, looking at Violet with pleading eyes.
Violet, seeing her look, handed her the peeled orange and said, "How about I ask the doctor?"
"If the doctor says it's okay, your mom won't stop you."
This suggestion hit the mark for Emily, and she quickly nodded. "Go ask."
Elodie, looking both exasperated and loving, seemed to agree with Violet's suggestion.
Violet then went outside to ask the doctor about Emily's condition.
After getting the doctor's advice, she returned to the room.
"You can get out of bed and walk around," Violet told Elodie, then turned to Emily.
Emily immediately beamed, quickly got out of bed, and grabbed Violet's hand. "Take me to the hospital garden? I want to get some sun."
Violet nodded.
The two women walked hand in hand to the garden, chatting and soaking up the sun, while Elodie stayed in the room, having the housekeeper change the bedding and clothes.
It was a bit hot today, but Emily hadn't seen the sun in days.
As they walked in the garden, she looked up at the glaring sun and said, "It's good to be alive." She realized how foolish it had been to try to end her life with sleeping pills that day.
Violet walked over and hugged her tightly. "Don't ever do anything like that again."
"Okay, I won't," Emily said. Having faced death, she now knew how precious life was.
