Chapter 720 How Could a Man Like Arthur Be Interested in Diana

The funeral was a mess, with Elio's side causing such a scene that the Stanley family felt embarrassed. Arthur's grandfather, Bram, kept a stern face the whole time, worried that if he said anything, he might end up back in the hospital.

Finally, they got through Kade's cremation.

Everyone carried the urns outside.

Just as they stepped out of the crematorium and before they could get to their cars, a guy in black leather and a black mask appeared out of nowhere. He pulled out a small, silenced gun and fired a shot at Elio.

The bullet hit Elio in the thigh, not a vital spot, but enough to make him fall to the ground, screaming dramatically.

The shooter took off, leaving the gun with his fingerprints behind.

Chaos erupted, with people screaming and shouting.

Bodyguards rushed to protect Bram, while other business elites who had come for the funeral scrambled for safety. Amanda clutched the seemingly dying Elio, frantically calling for an ambulance.

Only Arthur, Colleen, and Brady stayed calm, watching the scene unfold.

"What a show," Colleen said, taking off her black sunglasses and glaring at the fallen but not seriously injured Elio. She turned to Arthur and said, "This is a setup."

"Why worry? Even if they're trying to frame me, do you think the cops are useless?" Arthur replied, much more composed than Colleen.

His voice was cold.

"Still, better to be cautious," Brady advised, thinking it was wise to be careful.

Such a clumsy attempt at framing could only be orchestrated by Arthur's uncle.

"I know, you don't need to worry," Arthur said, then turned to Brady. "Kade's matter is almost settled. You should head back. If anything comes up, I'll contact you."

"Alright, but remember, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask for my help," Brady said, patting Arthur on the shoulder.

Arthur nodded.

Colleen, aware of Brady's influence, added, "Mr. Hall, thank you for your willingness to help."

"Of course. I'll head out now. Call me if you need anything."

"Will do," Arthur nodded again.

Brady then went to find his father, Michael, before heading back.

On the way home, Michael couldn't help but sigh, "The Stanley family's relationships are complicated."

Brady frowned, "It's all because of power and money."

Michael agreed with his son, nodding slightly. "So, when it comes time to divide our family's assets, make sure it's fair. I don't want our family to end up like the Stanleys."

Brady understood, "Don't worry, I'll handle it properly."

Michael nodded in approval, then suddenly remembered something. "By the way, is there any truth to the rumors about Diana and Arthur having an affair?" Recently, there had been various rumors circulating about the Stanley family.

Rumors that Arthur had an affair with his sister-in-law, leading to Kade's death from anger.

Michael didn't believe these rumors.

But they were so widespread that he couldn't help but be somewhat skeptical.

"How could that be? Arthur would never go for his deceased cousin's wife," Brady scoffed.

"Really? So those rumors are all false?"

"Yes, they're false."

A man like Arthur, with his status, could have any woman he wanted. Why would he be interested in Diana, a young girl?

Not to mention that Diana was now his adversary. Even if she weren't, she was his cousin's wife.

Why would he get involved with her?
