Chapter 940 How About We Play a Game
As Brady and Arthur snuck into the ventilation room, Brady hid behind some clutter to scope out the situation.
The room had two guards, but security was pretty lax since it wasn't a high-priority area.
After checking things out, Brady pulled a sharp knife from his belt and signaled to Arthur.
Arthur got the hint and grabbed his own knife.
They quietly moved behind the two guards who were chatting at a wooden table, staying out of sight.
Brady then stepped out from behind the clutter and shouted at the guards in the Crestoria language.
The guards were momentarily stunned but quickly reached for their guns.
Before they could fire, Arthur swiftly kicked them to the ground.
As the guards tried to get up, Brady slashed their necks with his knife, causing them to bleed and faint almost instantly.
With the guards out of commission, Brady took out a lighter, flicked it open, and tossed it into the ventilation duct.
The lighter ignited the duct, sending thick smoke through the ventilation system and into the command room.
The room quickly filled with choking smoke, causing everyone inside to cough, including Violet.
Miles, however, stayed calm.
He'd seen worse and quickly figured out what was going on.
He grabbed a wet cloth from a drawer and covered his mouth and nose, tossing another to Violet, who refused to use it.
Ignoring her refusal, Miles ordered his subordinates to put out the fire in the ventilation room, realizing Brady had infiltrated the base.
As the subordinates left, Miles approached Violet, grabbed her arm, and coldly said, "You were right, Brady is here to rescue you. But I have a game to play with him. You and Julie are the prizes."
Violet, her throat burning from the smoke, stayed silent, knowing Brady's arrival meant she and Julie had a chance to be saved.
She didn't want to provoke Miles further.
Miles, understanding her silence, smirked and dragged her away, anticipating an exciting night ahead.
Meanwhile, Brady and Arthur were surrounded by base members.
Brady instinctively shielded Arthur, but Arthur was unafraid.
The members wanted to capture them alive, so they resorted to fists instead of guns.
Brady, a skilled fighter, easily handled ten men, knocking them down one by one.
As the fight neared its end, one member, realizing he couldn't win, secretly pulled out a taser and stunned Brady.
Arthur tried to help but was also ambushed and knocked out.
When Brady came to, it was dark.
He found himself lying on a large stone slab in the ritual area, surrounded by flickering torches that made the place look like hell.
He quickly stood up, noticing two large iron cages on either side of the stone slab.
Inside each cage lay a woman in a white cotton dress, unconscious with a cloth bag over her head, leaving only a small hole for breathing.
On a nearby platform, a shirtless man, who had nearly crippled Brady years ago, stared at him.
Brady's eyes darkened with anger, his temples throbbing.
"Mr. Hall, awake? How about we play a game?" He taunted.
