Chapter 1046 Is He Determined to Drag Emily to Death?

"Mom, I really don't feel like talking," Emily said, her voice heavy with frustration.

Elodie sighed, knowing she couldn't push her daughter any further. "Alright, I won't say anything more. Just a suggestion—when you're feeling better, we can talk."

Emily nodded irritably.

The next morning, Violet woke up in Brady's arms. True to his word, he had come back last night and kept her up.

Violet felt like her arms and legs were completely worn out.

Half-opening her eyes, she murmured to Brady, "I need to get up. I have to help Emily drop her class."

"You're always worrying about others," Brady said, wanting to hold her a bit longer but knowing he couldn't stop her.

Violet snuggled closer to him, giving him a gentle kiss. "Emily helped me through my toughest times. I can't forget that."

Brady nodded, brushing a strand of hair from her forehead. "Alright, I understand. I won't interfere."

Violet smiled, hugging him and giving him another tender kiss.

After leaving the house, Violet headed to Lucien's school to help Emily drop her class.

Violet was worried Austin might refuse, so she went straight to the principal, Roy, who was Lucien's uncle. Naturally, Roy agreed to help.

But Austin was determined.

Since Emily and he had fallen out because of Lucien, he felt he had to show Lucien who was in charge.

So when Violet went to see Roy, Austin showed up too.

Violet saw him coming and guessed he was there to cause trouble. But as long as Roy had the final say, it didn't matter.

"Mr. Roberts, you don't need to interfere with the class drop," Roy said as soon as Austin walked in.

Austin smirked, his tone icy. "Mr. Murphy, I arranged this class. Shouldn't dropping it require my approval?"

Roy frowned, clearly displeased with Austin's disrespectful attitude. "Mr. Roberts, there's no need to be so stubborn about this."

"Mr. Murphy, how is this stubbornness? I'm the main course professor. Don't I have the right to manage student withdrawals?" Austin replied calmly, his eyes filled with a strange certainty, as if he were determined to win this battle.

Violet watched, feeling increasingly annoyed.

He just wanted to force Emily to confront him, didn't he?

What a jerk.

"Mr. Roberts, I'm the principal," Roy said, his anger barely contained.

Why was Austin suddenly challenging him over such a trivial matter?

"Shouldn't the university's principal set an example? This class is mine, so I should handle it. Mr. Murphy, if you insist on using your authority to interfere with our teaching, I might have to report this to the education board," Austin said smoothly.

He wasn't afraid of threatening Roy, even if it meant risking his job at the university.

In fact, Austin had already lined up other options for himself.

Even if he didn't work at the university, he could go to another school or join Douglas's company.

He knew that as long as the night Emily spent with Lucien was a fact, the Hart family owed him a favor.

That was his confidence.

"Mr. Roberts, are you threatening me now?" Roy's face darkened further, his voice cold and his gaze sharp.

Austin smiled lightly. "Not at all. I'm just stating the facts. So, Mr. Murphy, let me handle this."

With that, Austin glanced at Violet and walked out.

Violet, now furious, chased after him.

Outside Roy's office, Violet caught up to Austin, blocking his path. Her voice was heavy with anger. "Mr. Roberts, you can't act like this. The Hart family gave you a valuable house. If you accept it, you wouldn't dare report to the education board, would you?"

Austin smirked, casually slipping a hand into his pocket. "Mrs. Hall, did you see me accept it?"

"No, right?"

Violet frowned. "Emily's dad promised it to you. You'll get it eventually."

"But right now, I haven't received it, have I?" Austin said, his arrogance evident.

Violet was livid. She had never encountered such a despicable man. He was worse than trash in a sewer!

Was he really going to drag Emily down?

"You just want to force Emily to meet you, don't you?"

Austin didn't deny it. "Yes, I want to see her."
