Chapter 1057 Emily Can't Stand It Anymore, How Did She Attract Such a Shameless and Despicable Man

As soon as Emily sent out the distress message, she instantly regretted it.

She hadn't even dealt with Austin yet, and now she had to deal with Lucien.

Emily felt overwhelmed and frustrated.

But she couldn't think of a better solution.

So, she had to go with it for now.

The next day, Emily knew Austin would be coming to the Hart Group, so she arrived at the office early, ready to face him.

Her father had been deceived by Austin's sweet talk, but she wasn't naive.

This man wouldn't be satisfied until he drained every last bit from her, even after their breakup.

How could she ever marry him?

Emily arrived at the executive office of the Hart Group's CEO. Her assistant, Juliet, immediately brought her a cup of coffee. "Morning, Ms. Hart."

Emily casually flipped through the files on her desk and asked, "Is someone supposed to report to the CEO's office today?"

Juliet thought for a moment and replied, "Yeah, he's already waiting outside."

Emily scoffed. He really showed up.

So shameless.

"Let him wait outside," Emily said, continuing to go through the files.

Juliet hesitated, her pretty face showing confusion. "Isn't that a bit rude? He told me Mr. Hart recommended him."

Emily felt a surge of anger and slammed the file shut. "He's so shameless, using my father as a ticket."

"Should I let him report in?" Juliet asked, unsure of the relationship between Emily and the new hire that made Emily so angry.

But it was clear that Emily didn't like him.

"Let him report in," Emily said. She couldn't upset her father, who had just recovered.

It was infuriating to feel so cornered by Austin.

"What position should we give him? Mr. Hart suggested placing him here," Juliet whispered.

Emily clenched her fingers, feeling like she was about to explode. "Make him your assistant."

Juliet was stunned. Her assistant?

Her position was already quite low.

If he were to become her assistant, he definitely wouldn't be happy.

"Go ahead," Emily said, waving Juliet away, not wanting to hear any more about him.

Juliet understood and went to handle it.

Emily sat in her office, fuming and helpless, resorting to crumpling sheets of A4 paper to vent her frustration.

After crumpling about a dozen sheets, Austin came in to report after completing his onboarding.

Gone was the scholarly look he had in college; now he was dressed in a sharp suit, looking quite professional.

But his words still made Emily nauseous: "Emily, I look forward to working with you."

"Austin, if you had any dignity as a man, you wouldn't be shamelessly clinging to my family," Emily said angrily. "Most men would be satisfied with getting a house. How dare you ask my father to get into my company?"

Austin didn't get angry at Emily's outburst. He responded gently, "Emily, have you forgotten? You and Lucien cost me my job. That loss is for a lifetime."

Emily was speechless, her fingers clenching so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

She couldn't help but grit her teeth and say, "You got fired because of your own actions! What does that have to do with us?"

"My father is old and kind-hearted. You saw that and decided to deceive him. Are you even human?"

"Emily, don't be mad. I'm actually here for you," Austin said, sounding like a scoundrel. "We're still family. There's no need to talk about deception, right?"

"Get out!" Emily couldn't take it anymore. How had she ended up with such a shameless, despicable man?

"Don't be angry. We'll get along well," Austin said, ignoring her fury and remaining calm.

That was the last straw for Emily. Overwhelmed by frustration and anger, she grabbed a plastic ornament from her desk and hurled it at Austin.
