Chapter 915 Is It Useless for Men to Comfort Them

Violet's words hit Brady right where it hurt. His eyes darkened instantly, making him look downright scary.

But Violet didn't flinch.

She kept smiling at him.

Brady, riled up by her gaze, tightened his grip and growled, "If you ever see another guy, I'll come back from the dead to find you."

"Then you better stay alive," Violet said softly, wrapping her arms around his neck.

She stopped smiling and spoke gently, "Honey, I can't live without you, and neither can the kids."

"So don't push me away. I want to stay by your side, watching over you. Only when I see you can I feel at ease. I promise I won't hold you back or cause trouble," Violet vowed to him.

Brady's anger melted away under her gentle persistence. He sighed helplessly and said, "You've already snuck down here. What else can I do?"

"Thank you, Honey." Seeing that he was no longer angry, Violet stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, and gave him a sweet kiss.

After the kiss, Brady's eyes were no longer clouded with anger. Instead, they were filled with tenderness and care. "Today, I'll teach you how to use a gun for self-defense. Do you want to learn?"

Although he agreed to let her stay, he couldn't guarantee he wouldn't be distracted by her.

Violet nodded, "Yes, I want to learn."

"Good, let's go." Brady took her hand and led her to Julie's place.

When they arrived at Julie's house, she was sitting on the bed, crying.

She had just learned about Dora's death.

She felt deeply saddened and guilty.

Although Dora had a sharp tongue, she had been kind to Julie, especially in this matter, which Julie knew was caused by her.

She felt even more remorseful.

"Julie, stop crying. Those people are coming. You and Violet should hide in the safe room," Brady said, standing in front of her.

Julie looked up with tear-filled eyes and choked out, "Brady, Dora died because of me... I feel terrible."

"Don't blame yourself. This isn't your fault," Brady continued to comfort her.

"But they were after me and ended up killing Dora. If... if I had taken her place, no one would have died." Julie's heart was kind.

Thinking about Dora's gruesome death made her feel like her heart was being torn apart.

"Listen, stop crying and go to the safe room with Violet," Brady said, not very good at comforting women.

Julie, instead of being comforted, cried even harder.

The other men in the room, equally inexperienced in comforting, stood around awkwardly, unsure of what to do.

Violet, being a woman, found it easier to communicate with Julie.

She said to Brady, "Honey, why don't you all step outside? I'll talk to her. I'm a woman, it's easier for me."

Brady thought about it and agreed. He and Arthur stepped outside.

Violet stayed to comfort Julie.

About 15 minutes later, Violet emerged from the cabin with Julie, who had stopped crying.

As they stepped down the stairs, Brady looked at them in surprise.

It seemed women did understand each other better.

Their attempts to comfort her had been useless.

"Honey, should I take her to the safe room now?" Violet asked, holding Julie's hand as they approached Brady.

Brady nodded, "Yes, go ahead. I'll teach you how to use the gun later."

Violet nodded obediently, "Okay, I'll do as you say."

With that, Bob stepped forward and said, "Mrs. Hall, I'll take you to the safe room."

"Thanks, Bob."

"No problem, Mrs. Hall."

After a brief exchange, they headed to the safe room in the villa.

Brady and Arthur went to the beach to wait for the police.

They knew the police wouldn't find much and would likely rule it an accident.

But with the police around, Miles, who was hiding, would surely make a move.

Brady needed to draw him out.
