Chapter 53 Does it imply that she's open-minded?
When Violet heard his words, she was first stunned and wondered if she should ask him to wait on the side. Was there something he needed? But now, she couldn't just foolishly approach and ask him. All she could do was restrain herself and stand to the side, wanting to see why he made her wait.
Violet stood next to the potted plant in the office, and Brady caught a glimpse of her slender figure. There was a hint of something strange in his eyes.
He didn't know why he cared whether this woman would be harassed by other men. It was very odd.
Seeing her, he couldn't help but pay attention to her now. Even though she had schemed against him. Brady felt like he was truly absurd.
"Mr. Hall, I'm really sorry. I didn't know the director would bring up the Hall family's members. I promise it won't happen again,"
Aubrey quickly bowed and apologized, knowing how to read the situation. "Mr. Hall, please don't blame us."
Earlier, Mr. Hall's gesture towards Miss Devereux didn't sound like that of a stranger. Could it be that he knew her? Or even if he didn't, Miss Devereux was still a member of the Hall family. They couldn't afford to offend her. Was this Director an idiot?
If they hadn't come, was he planning to flirt with Miss Devereux? Thinking of this, Aubrey really wanted to slap Mr. Rod, the idiot. Mr. Hall intended to acquire their factory at a high price, and if they messed it up, he would surely make them pay!
"What just happened?" Brady ignored Aubrey's apology and his tone became heavy, directly pressing Mr. Rod.
Mr. Rod was already terrified; how could he have known that teasing a designer from JK would attract the attention of the Hall family's president? How was he supposed to explain this?
"N-nothing," Mr. Rod's body trembled as he started to explain in a hesitant manner, "I was just talking to Miss Devereux about the design."
"Is that so?" Brady's voice dragged out a skeptical tone, then he immediately turned to the obediently waiting Violet and asked, "Is that true, Miss Devereux?"
"I hope Mr. Rod won't call me in alone next time," Violet didn't want to get involved, mainly because she wanted to leave quickly. She still had a factory to attend to!
"It seems Mr. Rod has been harassing our female employees." Brady said.
Mr. Rod was so scared that his legs went weak; he was one step away from kneeling down.
Brady asserted, "Mr. Rod, please apologize to Miss Devereux."
Violet was surprised and looked at this man in disbelief. Was he helping her? Could it be true? Didn't he despise her? Violet couldn't help but feel a bit... unsatisfied with the current situation.
“Alright?”
Mr. Rod didn't dare to disobey and hurriedly stumbled over to Violet. He immediately bowed and apologized, "Miss Devereux, I'm sorry, I won't dare to call you to my office without permission again."
"Miss Devereux, please forgive me." Mr. Rod was truly scared out of his wits.
He had only been attracted by her beauty and wanted to flirt with the pretty girl.
Who knew it would cause so much trouble.
He regretted it so much.
"It won't happen again. Mr. Rod must help us with JK's work by next Monday," Violet said calmly.
The director repeatedly nodded, his tail between his legs.
"Mr. Hall, look... The matter has been resolved. Should we continue the tour?" Aubrey didn't want this incident to affect the acquisition and cautiously suggested.
"No need to continue. If you are willing to cooperate with the Hall family, I will naturally offer you a very satisfactory acquisition price."
"Thank you, Mr. Hall."
The acquisition discussion was almost over, and Brady left with Linda.
Violet also followed them out.
But as a gesture of thanks for his help earlier, Violet walked over and thanked him, "Mr. Hall, thank you just now."
Brady stopped and looked at her, his voice warm, "Miss Devereux, is it that you really don't know how to protect yourself or... only know how to use me?"
Brady felt it was pointless to say the latter sentence.
So, he stopped.
Violet knew that he wasn't genuinely helping her.
Was he just implying that she was open-minded?
After all, he had always believed she was scheming against him.
"Thank you, Mr. Hall." Violet suppressed the slight discomfort she felt and turned around, holding the remaining sample sheets, and walked out of the workshop.
