Chapter 808 Brady Does Not Comment

Arthur squinted, trying to figure out what Brady was hinting at. "What are you getting at?" he asked, clearly confused.

Brady, playing with his daughter, chuckled. "Come on, you know what I'm talking about."

Arthur still looked puzzled.

He paused, noticing Brady's suggestive grin, and then it hit him. He burst out laughing. "You think those rumors are true?"

"Hey, anything's possible. Otherwise, why'd you move back to your grandpa's place?" Brady continued.

Arthur was momentarily speechless.

Sure, he had moved back, but not because he was interested in Diana, as the rumors suggested. He did it to keep Diana from being manipulated by his uncle's crew into hurting his grandfather.

"She's just a pawn for my uncle. I gotta be careful," Arthur explained.

"She's just a kid. You don't need to watch her like a hawk," Brady said, thinking Diana couldn't cause much trouble in the Stanley family.

Arthur disagreed, taking a deep breath. "You're underestimating the situation. My grandpa's fond of her."

"I'm worried he might, in a moment of confusion, hand over all his shares to her."

"Does that mean you have to move in yourself?" Brady asked, hitting the nail on the head.

Arthur could've assigned someone trustworthy to keep an eye on things, which would've been more effective than moving in himself. It would've also avoided unnecessary gossip.

Arthur looked at him, "When it comes to my grandpa, I trust no one but myself."

"Suit yourself," Brady nodded slightly, though he still felt something was off.

"Be honest with me, do you have feelings for her?"

Arthur immediately scoffed, "A woman who'd falsely accuse me for money, who'd shamelessly move in with my grandpa to please my uncle—do you think I could ever like her?"

Arthur was very clear that he had no feelings for Diana. He despised women who slandered him.

Brady didn't comment, as he had been proven wrong by reality before.

Back in the day, he had the same feelings towards Violet—disdain and disgust. He thought she was scheming and just like other women trying to get into his bed, but in reality, she was being used and didn't want anything to do with him. In the end, he was the one who had been deluding himself.

"I still stand by what I said. If you need any help, just ask."

Arthur nodded, "I know."

They then moved on from the unpleasant topic. Arthur looked at the baby in Brady's arms and smiled, "Thinking about having more kids?"

"Not right now. Three's enough." Although Matilda always said having a couple more would make the Hall family livelier. But he didn't want Violet to go through the hardship of childbirth again. It's a painful and life-threatening experience. The cost is too high. He couldn't bear to see her suffer like that again. So, no more kids.

"Alright." Arthur looked again at the adorable child in Brady's arms. So cute. It made him want a daughter, too. But he didn't even have a girlfriend at the moment.

Arthur suddenly felt that, after all this time without meeting someone who moved him, maybe he should compromise and accept his family's arrangements.

A family-arranged marriage might not be a bad idea.

"When can I attend your wedding?" Brady asked.

"Not anytime soon," Arthur replied with a faint smile.

"I think—" Brady was about to suggest that Arthur should pay more attention to the people around him when someone walked into the café. Brady glanced over and instantly smiled.

Speak of the devil.

Diana from the Stanley family, who was still in college, walked in with a young guy about her age.
