Chapter 314 Come to My Place and Wait for Me, I Have a Gift for You
Leana watched for a while, then withdrew her gaze and kept her thoughts to herself, just waiting for Olivia to return.
At Violet's table, Violet and Quentin were having a great conversation. Quentin, in particular, knew how to use his professional knowledge to make Violet gradually admire him, so his performance all night was both professional and gentlemanly.
He left a very good impression on Violet, which was extraordinarily significant since she really needed his help, and this realization quietly swelled Quentin's sense of male pride in his heart.
To be honest, Quentin had a good feeling about Violet. She had a pretty face and spoke softly, which naturally attracted him.
Quentin silently admired her face. Violet took a sip of juice and began to speak, "Quentin, I'm counting on you for my mom's matter."
Quentin smiled gently, "Ms. Devereux, rest assured. You are a good friend of my family. Emily and I will definitely help you with this."
"That's really very kind of you." Violet felt a surge of happiness upon hearing Quentin's solemn promise.
"Don't worry." Quentin smiled at her, glanced at her white plate with the half-eaten steak, and asked, "By the way, Ms. Devereux, would you like anything else to eat?"
Violet had already eaten more than half of her steak, drank a lot of sweet juice, and had some bread, so she was quite full. She shook her head and stated, "No, I'm full."
Quentin nodded. "After dinner, do you have any other plans, Ms. Devereux?"
"I'm going home..." Violet instinctively wanted to say that she'dgo home and take care of the kids, but she quickly restrained herself just as the words were about to slip out. She lightly patted her chest in relief and quickly corrected herself. "Go home and work on some designs. I took on a client today and need to finish the design drafts."
"Is it that hard?" Quentin, not very familiar with the life of a designer, thought it wouldn't be as demanding as lawyers staying up late to review legal documents. He didn't expect that they would also take work home.
"It's not too bad. I quite enjoy this job." Violet picked up her juice glass, smiled gently and shyly.
"Still, it's hard work." Quentin's gaze towards Violet became more appreciative.
Violet felt a bit embarrassed being praised by such an elite lawyer like Quentin. She quickly took a few more sips of juice to calm herself, then put the glass down and waited for Quentin to finish. "Quentin, I'm done. Take your time."
Quentin had almost finished his meal as well and said, "I'm done too. Let's go."
Violet nodded, and the two of them got up and walked out of the restaurant together.
Outside the restaurant, Quentin went to get the car and then drove Violet back to Ashbourne Manor. When they arrived, Violet got out of the car, waved to him, and quickly ran inside.
Violet was actually quite afraid that Quentin might say something like "Wouldn't you invite me in to sit for a while?"
However, just as she ran into the manor and hadn't had time to change her shoes, a belated text from Brady was sent to her phone: [Come to my place and wait for me. I have a gift for you.]
Violet's head ached with the vexation of the message, and she reluctantly sent back: [Are you back already?]
Brady: [Half an hour more. You can wait for me there.]
Half an hour? Violet thought, 'why should I go early?'
Violet: [I'll spend some time with my aunt and then go.]
After sending the message, she quickly changed into slippers. As she was changing, Emily, who had returned earlier, walked over holding Nicole and asked, "Did you have a good day at work?"
"It was okay." Violet changed into her slippers, reached out to touch Nicole's little face, and kissed her forehead. "Why did you come back so early today?" she asked Emily.
"Nothing much today, so I came back early." Emily walked with her slowly to the living room and continued, "By the way, I've got the appraisal matter for you."
