Chapter 705 We Are a Married Couple

Two days flew by in a flash.

Brady was finally ready to be discharged from the hospital.

Violet arrived early to pick him up, and they packed up their belongings and completed the discharge paperwork to head home.

On their way home, Violet received a call from Ethan.

Helen wanted to meet her and pay respects to Evelyn.

After thinking it over for a moment, Violet agreed.

Once she hung up, Brady asked, "Helen wants to see you?"

Violet nodded, not hiding anything from Brady. "Yeah, she said she wants to apologize in person and pay respects to my mom."

"If she's genuinely sorry and you want to see her, I won't stop you. And I'll go with you," Brady said, unwilling to let her meet anyone alone, fearing any unexpected incidents.

He wanted to be by her side.

"Are you that clingy?" Violet knew he meant well, but couldn't resist teasing him.

Brady reached out and playfully tapped her nose, his face full of affection. "Of course, you're my treasure now. I'd stick to you all day if I could."

Violet's face reddened slightly at his teasing. "I don't want you sticking to me all day."

"You don't?" Brady leaned in closer, almost kissing her.

Violet didn't want to kiss him in public at the hospital, so she quickly pushed him away. "Stop it, there are people around. We can talk at home."

"What are you afraid of? We're a married couple. There's nothing wrong with a little PDA," Brady said, not caring about others.

After all, they were legally married, not sneaking around like lovers.

So, he cupped her face and gave her a deep kiss before letting go and leading her out.

They then headed to the café where Helen had arranged to meet.

Brady accompanied her inside and chose a random seat, while Violet went to meet Helen.

If it weren't for Helen's sincere desire to apologize and pay respects to Evelyn, Violet wouldn't have wanted to see her.

But since she had promised Ethan, she decided to go through with it.

Violet took a deep breath and slowly walked to Helen's table, pulling out a chair to sit down.

As soon as she sat, Helen looked at her with apologetic eyes and said, "Ms. Devereux, thank you for coming."

Violet nodded. "Alright, say what you need to say."

Helen bit her lip, knowing she had no face to confront Violet. But if she didn't, she would live the rest of her life in guilt. She hadn't known Evelyn would suffer so much.

She thought Evelyn would be happy marrying Gerry, who came from a decent family, after giving up on James.

But she was wrong.

All the consequences were her doing, and an apology couldn't truly make up for it.

But without a sincere apology, she would feel even more uneasy.

Helen looked up at Violet. "Ms. Devereux, thank you for saving Juniper."

"And I apologize for the pain caused to your mother and you over the years. I'm sorry. I don't expect you to forgive me, but I hope to make amends in any way I can."

"There's no need for amends. You don't owe me, only my mother," Violet said calmly.

She didn't want to delve into the past. Evelyn was gone, and all she wanted was to live a good life with Brady and their children.

Evelyn would be comforted knowing that.

"I understand. I will apologize and pay respects to your mother," Helen said, her eyes gradually reddening.

This time, she truly felt immense guilt.

Years of guilt had finally surfaced. What goes around comes around.

She thought she could enjoy the stolen wealth and status for life, but it would eventually be exposed.

James despised her.

So, one shouldn't be too greedy.

While Helen and Violet were chatting in the café, Charlotte confidently headed to the Hall Group building with her impressive resume from a prestigious overseas university.

She had attended the Devereux family briefing last time but had remained quiet, unlike Daniel.

The Hall Group hadn't paid much attention to her.

Today, she successfully landed a job. Was this a sign of divine favor?
