Chapter 819 What Good Can a Married Woman Have
Darian was nursing a bruised rib from the beating Brady had given him. It wasn't too serious, but every step sent a sharp pain through his chest.
But he was a man, and a little pain wasn't going to stop him.
So, when he returned to his studio, he had his assistant spray some pain relief on his ribs, changed into his business attire, and got ready to head to JK for the contract signing.
Before he left, his assistant looked worried and hesitated before speaking, "Darian, are we going to partner with JK?"
"You know Mrs. Hall will be in frequent contact with us. Won't Mr. Hall give you trouble?"
"What are you trying to say?" Darian adjusted his shirt collar and asked.
The assistant sighed. Did Darian not know what he was getting at? He was worried Darian might ruin the reputation and success he had built over the past two years.
When Darian had come back earlier, his chest was already bruised.
The assistant knew it was Brady who had done it.
In the global design scene, the status of Chinese designers could never quite reach the level of Eldoria's.
Darian had managed to break into Eldoria's mainstream design circles with his genius talent.
And now, he was risking it all for a married woman.
It just didn't make sense.
The assistant didn't want to see him throw his future away like this.
"You've made a name for yourself in the design world. You could have any woman you want. Mrs. Hall is married. What can a married woman possibly..." The assistant didn't get to finish his sentence before Darian turned and glared at him coldly, "Who gave you the right to talk about her like that? Say it again, and you're out."
Darian rarely lost his temper, but this time was different. The assistant was so scared by his anger that he quickly shut up.
"I won't say anything more," the assistant said hurriedly.
Why was Darian so fixated on Violet?
Weren't there plenty of single women out there?
"Let's go," Darian said, checking the time. It was about time to leave.
The assistant quickly gathered all the contracts and materials and followed Darian to the Hall Group building for the official signing ceremony.
Around 2:30 PM, Darian finally arrived, fashionably late.
But even though he was half an hour late, Violet and Max had no complaints.
JK needed his help to break the monopoly of a joint venture design company.
So, despite his tardiness, Violet and Max greeted him with smiles, "Mr. Voss, welcome to JK."
Darian smiled slightly, his gaze soft yet possessive as he looked at Violet.
He extended his hand to her, "Mrs. Hall."
Violet hesitated. She didn't want to shake his hand, knowing it might upset Brady, but in a business setting, shaking hands was unavoidable. Even Brady did it when dealing with female executives from other companies.
So, after a moment's hesitation, she reached out and shook Darian's hand, "Mr. Voss, I hope we have a successful partnership."
"Mrs. Hall, we certainly will," Darian said, gently squeezing her hand, his eyes filled with a growing desire.
"You can call me Ms. Devereux or Violet. No need to be so formal with Mrs. Hall," Violet said, trying to pull her hand away.
But Darian held on tightly.
As he held her hand, he deliberately glanced up at the conference room's surveillance camera. Big companies have always had cameras in their meeting rooms.
He knew Brady was watching the signing ceremony from his office.
And even if Brady saw him holding Violet's hand, he wouldn't intervene because JK needed him.
Violet needed him.
