Chapter 916 Once He Killed Julie, His Uncle's Grudges Will Be Settled

Deep in the banana grove, the night breeze rustled through the leaves, carrying with it the lingering heat of the day.

Miles stood there, lost in thought about the recent sighting of Julie.

One of his subordinates, who had been out gathering information, rushed in and immediately bowed his head as he reported, "Mr. Gibson, Mr. Hall and the others have found Dora's body."

Miles glanced at him, his face showing little emotion.

It was as if he had expected this all along.

His voice was calm. "Anything else?"

The subordinate continued, "He sent his family away and called the police."

He had seen the police boat on the beach when he went to gather information.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have known the police were coming.

Miles listened quietly, his face still indifferent, as if nothing Brady did could stir him.

"What about Julie?" Miles turned to look at the subordinate.

The subordinate hesitated, not having gathered such detailed information. He simply said, "I saw them take her into the villa."

Miles narrowed his eyes slightly, thinking.

This island was a private one, bought by Brady.

A private island wouldn't be like other state-owned islands, with unified development and arrangements, open around the clock, with no privacy.

There would be secret rooms or hidden doors here.

To prevent any trouble in such an isolated place.

Thinking of this, Miles' voice deepened, "Stage a scene later, lead them to the beach."

The subordinate understood, "Mr. Gibson, I will serve you loyally."

After giving his orders, Miles continued to play with the gleaming blade in his hand.

This was the knife Lance had used to kill his uncle.

Later, he had used this same knife to slit Lance's throat.

Now, only Julie remained.

Once he killed Julie, his uncle's revenge would be complete.

Around 1 PM, the local police on a nearby island received Brady's call and sent three detectives to investigate.

As Brady had expected, there were no weapons or signs of a struggle at the scene.

They quickly determined the nature of the case, sending one detective back with Dora's body to notify the family and decide whether an autopsy was needed.

The remaining two detectives stayed behind to conduct a preliminary investigation.

Time passed quickly, and as the sky darkened, the blue horizon was swallowed by the orange-red sunset, with seagulls skimming low over the water.

Miles, in the banana grove, checked the time.

He turned the blood-stained knife in his hand and, in a low, gravelly voice, instructed one of his subordinates, "You go distract them."

The subordinate saluted Miles respectfully and quickly disappeared into the dark grove.

Once he was gone, Miles turned to the remaining subordinate, "Let's go to the villa and get Julie."

He intended to take Julie and offer her as a sacrifice to his deceased uncle.

"Yes, Mr. Gibson," the subordinate nodded respectfully.

The two of them then slowly merged into the banana grove, moving forward.

Meanwhile, the subordinate who had left first, holding a gun, cautiously observed his surroundings. Seeing no one around, he continued forward.

As he approached the villa, he deliberately kicked a vase at the bottom of the steps.

The vase made a noise.

Inside the villa, Brady and Arthur, who were discussing their next move, immediately ran out, alert.

They saw a strong man in a military-like uniform pointing a gun at them.

Brady quickly raised his gun in response.

But the man didn't shoot. Instead, he suddenly ran towards the beach.

Brady and Arthur chased after him.

While everyone was chasing the man, Miles and his other subordinate calmly entered the villa.
