Chapter 389 Give Me a Little Reward and I Might Be More Motivated
By evening, the whole online drama about Violet getting framed had pretty much fizzled out.
Now, everyone was gunning for Fanny.
Violet got back to the mansion, checked out some news sites, and felt a bit more chill.
She'd been stressing that this mess might trash her rep and mess with her future gigs, but luckily, it all got sorted out.
And she knew it was all thanks to Brady showing up right in time.
Violet glanced over at Brady, who was chilling on the couch, playing with the kids. Her mind drifted to the DeVere family, who were still being jerks about her mom's inheritance.
Even though Quentin was on her side with the inheritance fight, it was a tough gig without solid proof.
Violet watched Brady for a bit, hesitated, then walked over. "Brady, I gotta talk to you about something."
Brady looked up. "What's up? Spill it."
"Let's chat in private." Violet licked her lips, feeling kinda awkward.
She knew asking for his help meant she'd owe him big time later.
But she was out of options; she couldn't just let the DeVere family walk all over her. And she couldn't ignore how they hurt her mom.
"Alright." Brady handed Nicole to Hellen, got up, and followed Violet upstairs.
They headed into the study.
Violet glanced at him, biting her lip. She took a moment, then finally said, "Brady, can I ask you a favor?"
Brady raised an eyebrow and smirked. His grin made Violet a bit uneasy, wondering what he was thinking.
"Why the grin?" she asked.
"You never ask for favors, and now you are. I'm just surprised," Brady said, still smiling.
Violet's cheeks turned pink. She never did ask for help, but this was a tough spot, and she had no other way out.
"Go on. What is it?" Brady asked.
"It's not a big deal," Violet said softly. "It's about the DeVere family."
"What about them?" Brady's eyes locked onto hers, clearly interested.
Violet felt a bit flustered under his gaze and looked away. She took a deep breath. "It's about my mom's inheritance. The DeVere family never acknowledged it and even trashed the evidence. I want it back."
She looked at Brady after finished.
Brady thought for a moment. "That's it?" Getting that inheritance back from the DeVere family was no biggie for him.
Even if they couldn't get it back, Brady could easily cover whatever her mom left behind.
But Violet probably wouldn't like that. She wanted Brady to help take down the DeVere family to avenge her mom. She just wasn't sure if Brady would be up for it.
So she stammered, "Actually, there's more."
Brady asked, "What else? If it's in my power, I'll handle it." He wasn't bluffing. The DeVere family wasn't what it used to be; they were no real threat and couldn't stand up to Brady.
So, dealing with them was like squashing a bug for him.
"Can you help me take down the DeVere family?" Violet asked, adding, "I'll pay you back."
Brady laughed. "Pay me back?"
"Yeah," Violet said.
"Alright." Brady's eyes locked onto hers, his voice low and smooth. "You can give me a little something now. Might make me more eager to help."
The hint was clear.
Violet wasn't dumb. Blushing, she bit her lip, walked up to him, and started taking off her dress.
