Chapter 263 He Spoiled Violet Too Much
Outside the Devereux family's mansion, Emily followed them to Brady's Bentley.
She stopped and glanced at Violet, who was still holding hands with Brady. She suddenly felt a bit embarrassed, as if she was interrupting them.
"Mr. Hall, thank you for your help tonight. Violet and I will go back now," Emily said.
Despite feeling a bit awkward, Emily still had to take Violet away.
With Emily's reminder, Violet instantly reacted, blushing slightly, and pulled her hand away from Brady's.
Brady's hand was warm and firm, with a slight callous on the palm and fingertips. It felt a bit rough, a typical manly roughness.
She was holding it, and it felt somewhat uncomfortable, like having a piece of hot iron.
After pulling her hand back, Violet immediately clasped her hands together, cooling the residual warmth from his palm, and calmly said, "Mr. Hall, thank you for tonight."
"Don't thank me," Brady said.
He looked at Violet, not angry that she pulled away. He had recently found that his tolerance and patience toward her had greatly increased. He spoke gently, "First, check your finger injury. As a designer, you rely on your hands. What happened just now that made you almost ruin your hands?"
Violet didn't want to mention it, but Brady had helped her so much that she couldn't keep it from him. She bit her lip slightly and said, "There's some unfinished business with the Devereux family regarding my mother's inheritance. I came back this time for that reason, but they just deceived me."
"How much inheritance?" Brady asked.
"Not much." For Brady, a billionaire, her mother's inheritance of around a million was indeed little, but for Violet, a million was enough to provide a better life for Henry and Nicole. "Around a million or so, that's what my grandfather specifically left for my mother while he was alive."
Violet's grandfather had been kind to both her and her mother. He knew Violet's father was unfaithful in marriage, so he left some inheritance for her and her mother.
However, when her mother fell ill, she went to the Devereux family to get the money for the treatment, but the Devereuxs turned a blind eye.
In the end, her mother passed away on the hospital bed.
Thinking about this, Violet couldn't help but want to cry.
"Is it difficult to retrieve?" Brady understood the things and asked.
"A bit difficult. The Devereuxs forged a fake inheritance agreement for my mother, so it's so hard to reclaim it."
Violet restrained herself from feeling the pain of her deceased mother, lightly pressing her eyes with her bloodshot fingers. However, as she did so, Brady caught her fingers and said, "Your fingers are injured. Don't move them."
He then gently wiped her eyes with his fingertip.
Violet felt uncomfortable with his tenderness, and Emily beside her was also a bit stunned.
Brady had truly exceeded her expectations. The image of him others talked about was supposed to be ruthless and aloof; he didn't like any woman getting close to him.
Moreover, anyone who offended Brady would be dealt with severely.
But who would have thought that such a decisive man like Brady would have such a gentle and indulgent side towards women?
Emily was almost swayed to Brady's side.
Brady was spoiling Violet too much!
"I'll help you with this," Brady said after releasing her fingers.
Violet didn't want his help. She already owed him a favor for today's events and quickly shook her head, saying, "Mr. Hall, it's okay. I've hired a lawyer, and I can handle it myself."
Then, she glanced at Brady and hurriedly added, "Thank you for today. Emily and I will head back now."
As she finished speaking and tried to walk toward Emily, Brady reached out to block her path. However, instead of insisting, he lowered his head and said, "Think about it carefully. I can protect you and your family."
After saying this, without holding back, he gently brushed her cheek with his hand, his tone warm and full of affection. "I will give you a lot, a lot."
Feeling Brady's touch on her face, Violet didn't resist as much as before. In the blink of an eye, she quickly suppressed her feelings and went back with Emily.
