Chapter 814 Does Brady Know About Violet and Darian
"Alright, spill it. What's the deal with you working with him?" Brady asked, sounding a bit impatient.
Max noticed Brady's expression wasn't great and wondered if this partnership wasn't to Mr. Hall's liking.
He quickly explained, "Mr. Hall, a new joint venture design company just set up shop in New Future City. I don't know much about their background, but they've been aggressively buying up design firms here, really shaking up our industry. So, Mrs. Hall and I decided to team up with Darian to avoid getting squeezed out."
"Just to be clear, our partnership with him is strictly business," Max added, suddenly realizing Brady might know about Darian's past interest in Violet.
"So, how exactly are you working together?" Brady asked, frowning at Max.
"He signed a contract with us at JK as a studio, and we're developing a joint brand together," Max replied honestly.
"Do you see him often?"
Max hesitated. Interaction was inevitable. Brady must have known about Violet and Darian. With Brady's capabilities, he surely figured it out.
"Yeah, we do interact a lot for the collaboration."
"Alright, I get it," Brady said.
Max swallowed nervously and asked, "Mr. Hall, is there anything else?"
"No, that's all," Brady replied, already planning his next move.
"Then, Mr. Hall, I'll get back to work," Max said, not daring to linger, and quickly stood up to leave.
As soon as Max left, Brady sat in his chair, thinking for a moment before calling Eddy. "Eddy, set up a meeting with Darian for me."
Eddy asked, "Mr. Hall, where would you like to meet?"
Brady's eyes darkened as he said, "The boxing gym I go to."
Eddy was shocked but replied, "Yes, Mr. Hall."
At Darian's private design studio.
Darian had just returned from the Hall Group and was about to enter when his assistant approached him. "Darian, you're finally back. Professor Moreau is here, waiting in your office."
"What's he doing here?" Darian asked, walking slowly inside.
The assistant followed closely. "He said he needs to discuss something with you."
"Alright, did you get him some coffee?" Darian inquired.
"Of course, I wouldn't dare neglect him," the assistant replied with a flattering smile.
Though Lucien was a university professor, his family had some influence.
"Okay, you can get back to work," Darian said, loosening his shirt collar and striding towards his office.
When he opened the door, he saw Lucien sitting on the couch, sipping coffee.
Lucien smiled as Darian entered. "You're quite busy. I've been waiting for half an hour."
"Why didn't you let me know you were coming?" Darian asked, closing the door and smiling.
"My grandmother's birthday is next month, and I wanted to ask you to design an outfit for her. Can you help with that?" Lucien said, swirling his coffee cup.
Darian walked over to his desk and looked at it. "What do you think?"
"Thanks a lot," Lucien said.
"No problem," Darian was about to say more when there was a knock on the door. His assistant entered, "Sorry to interrupt, Darian, but the Hall Group is on the phone for you."
Hearing it was the Hall Group, Darian raised an eyebrow, as if he had anticipated it. "What do they want?" he asked calmly.
