Chapter 632 Passing Away
Lilian didn't want to be recorded on video. If that happened, she'd never be able to show her face in Elysiuma's high society again.
But compared to going to jail, what did that matter?
After some consideration, Lilian agreed to be recorded.
She then began to sincerely apologize into Violet's phone. When she finished, Lilian thought Violet wouldn't take her to the police station.
But Violet simply saved the video, put her phone back in her bag, and walked away.
She had no intention of letting Lilian off the hook.
Lilian realized she had been tricked and started to rage, "Violet, you wretched woman! You deserve to die! Go to hell!"
She screamed a few more curses before Violet's bodyguards taped her mouth shut and dragged her away.
With Lilian gone, Violet enjoyed the peace and quiet. She got back into her car and uploaded the video online, hoping to restore some of the Hall Group's reputation.
The public had considered her marriage into the Hall family scandalous, but now that Lillian had apologized and admitted to staging the photos, people might finally stop questioning their relationship.
Feeling relieved, Violet sent the video to Brady: [Honey, how did I do this time?]
Brady was busy but took a moment to watch the video his wife sent.
A slight smile tugged at his lips.
Brady: [Well done. You should have been using your rights as Mrs. Hall all along.]
Violet smiled sweetly: [I was just worried people would say I was abusing my power.]
Brady: [No one would dare say that. Those rights are yours to use. The more you exercise them, the more respect I get as your husband.]
Violet laughed again, feeling spoiled by Brady's affection.
She knew she might get used to this pampering.
But dealing with Lilian today had removed a major headache. Lilian wouldn't be causing trouble for at least a year while she was in jail. By the time she got out, she wouldn't have the power to fight back.
In Eldoria, at the Lawson Estate.
Ever since that photo had come into James's possession, he hadn't slept well. His mind was filled with thoughts of Evelyn. If only he had insisted on taking her away back then.
Maybe they wouldn't have spent over twenty years apart, angry and estranged.
But there were no do-overs in life. He had missed his chance with her, and now, even if they met again, they could only be friends.
He couldn't cross that line anymore.
So, he decided to return to his home country to see her, just as a friend.
But as he was eagerly preparing for his trip, his assistant came in early with some news.
"Mr. Lawson," the assistant said cautiously, "I've gathered all the information on Ms. Patton. It's all here."
James took the documents and started reading. His face turned pale as he processed the information.
Evelyn had passed away?
And she had been tormented by the Devereux family before her death?
James felt a sharp pain in his chest and pressed his hand over his heart.
Seeing James in distress, the assistant rushed over. "Mr. Lawson, are you alright?"
"I'm fine," James said, snapping out of his grief, though his eyes were misty.
"Mr. Lawson, Ms. Patton's daughter was thrown out by the Devereux family," the assistant continued.
James looked up. "What do you mean?"
