Chapter 782 I Will Not Make Such a Rookie Mistakes Again
"Get away from me!" Charlotte screamed, her voice strained from the pain and the blood in her mouth.
She struggled to sit up on the couch, clutching her body protectively, her eyes filled with venom as she glared at Violet.
Violet had the nerve to order someone to strip her clothes off?
She would never forgive her!
"Looks like you didn't pass out," Violet said coldly, a mocking smile on her lips. "Keep her tied up."
"We'll head back to New Future City at 10 AM. Let's get a doctor to stop the bleeding. I don't want Ms. Devereux to be unable to speak clearly when she apologizes at the Hall Group."
The mention of a public apology made Charlotte's blood boil.
Violet, this idiot, was showing her a new level of ruthlessness.
Was Violet trying to push her to the brink?
Charlotte had no intention of apologizing, but she knew Violet would force her to.
She glared at Violet, then calmed herself, speaking in a measured tone, "Violet, you don't have to go this far. Nothing happened between Mr. Hall and me. Show some mercy, or don't blame others for seeking revenge when you fall."
"If I hadn't come, wouldn't something have happened between you two?" Violet retorted coldly.
What was the difference between Charlotte and Lilian?
They were both from the same family.
Neither knew how to repent for their mistakes.
"But the fact is, nothing did happen, right?" Charlotte wiped the blood from her lips, trying to stay strong. "Legally, you have no right to hold me like this."
"Now you care about the law? If the police find out about the contraband you were carrying, you'll end up in jail just like Lilian." Violet was impressed by her composure.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Charlotte said with a faint smile, refusing to admit to carrying contraband.
That was a much more serious issue than apologizing.
So she would never admit it.
Besides, the contraband was minimal and had already been used up.
She knew that even if Violet called the police, they wouldn't find any evidence.
"No matter. Let's get back to the Hall Group and deal with the apology first." Violet didn't want to waste more words on her.
She signaled to the bodyguard, who immediately understood and tied Charlotte up again.
The doctor Alaric had called, arrived quickly.
After knocking and entering, Violet instructed him to stop the bleeding on Charlotte's tongue.
Once the bleeding was under control, to prevent her from trying anything again, Violet had Calliope stuff a piece of gauze in her mouth and tape it shut, making it impossible for her to bite.
With Charlotte dealt with, Violet frowned slightly and left to rejoin Brady.
Brady had finished his shower and was now sitting at the desk in the suite, dressed in a clean white shirt and slacks, waiting for her.
Violet swiped her card to enter and saw the freshly showered, handsome man at the desk.
Her mood instantly lifted compared to dealing with Charlotte.
She smiled as she walked over to him. "Honey, everything's taken care of. Let's pack up and head back to New Future City, okay?"
"She's not dead?" Brady asked with a smile.
"No, she wouldn't dare. She's probably trying to buy time and find a chance to escape."
Brady nodded, his deep gaze fixed on Violet.
She was becoming more captivating, making it hard for him to look away.
He stared at her, entranced, then stood up and walked over to her, wrapping her in his arms. "You worked hard last night."
"I won't make such a rookie mistake again." He had seen Charlotte and Calliope getting close and thought she wasn't the type to have ulterior motives, so he had let his guard down, giving her an opportunity.
Luckily, no major harm was done.
Otherwise, Violet might never forgive him.
Violet felt his gentle embrace and leaned into him contentedly. "Good to know."
Brady, seeking her forgiveness, promised, "I won't do it again."
"Let's head back early. The sooner we deal with this, the better," Violet said, knowing Charlotte wouldn't give up easily.
Brady agreed, having no objections.
