Chapter 629 Time to Meet Her
"Dad, do you have another kid?" Ethan asked, pushing for answers.
James hesitated, "Don't tell your mom about this."
Ethan nodded, not daring to defy him.
"You can go now," James said, wanting to investigate further on his own.
"Okay," Ethan replied and left the room.
James immediately called his assistant, instructing them to look into Evelyn's background.
After the call, James stared at the photo, lost in a long-forgotten memory.
Over 20 years ago, he had brought the Lawson family's business partners to New Future City to explore business opportunities. As part of the business discussions, he took them to a nightclub.
That was where he met Evelyn.
She was beautiful, gentle, and spoke fluent English, a rare talent at that time.
From the moment he saw her, he was smitten.
Having grown up with a more open mindset, he was bold and direct. On the first day they met, he confessed his feelings and asked her to be his girlfriend.
But Evelyn, who had grown up in a more conservative environment, was shy and reserved.
She turned him down initially.
This only fueled his determination to pursue her.
Since he was staying in New Future City for several months, he had plenty of time to win her over.
Within a month, they were together.
However, they were young and didn't consider many factors. Their relationship quickly became intimate, everything seemed to happen naturally.
But he forgot that she had her life in New Future City and couldn't just leave everything behind to go to Eldoria with him.
In the end, they parted ways.
When he heard she got married, he was furious and never tried to see her again.
Now, over 20 years later, someone had dug up this old photo.
James snapped back to reality, looking at the photo in his hand. It was time to see her again, even if just as friends.
Back in New Future City.
The photo scandal had been temporarily resolved, but Brady wasn't planning to let the mastermind off the hook.
The next day, he personally visited White Ocean Group.
As a competitor to the Hall Group, Brady had never set foot in White Ocean Group before.
But for his wife, he had to make an exception.
He couldn't let someone like Lilian repeatedly harm his wife and disrupt the Hall family.
Aiden was shocked and surprised to hear that Brady had come to see him.
Firstly, Brady usually wouldn't bother coming to his company, and secondly, his visit couldn't be for anything good.
It had to be about the photo, right?
Aiden remained calm and composed. He had plenty of scapegoats to throw under the bus.
No need to get himself into trouble.
So, he waited calmly in his office for Brady to arrive.
Soon enough, Brady walked in.
As expected, Brady got straight to the point about the photo.
Aiden pretended to be courteous, "Mr. Hall, welcome. Please, have a seat."
Brady didn't stand on ceremony, sitting down opposite him, "Mr. White, you know why I'm here, don't you?"
Aiden forced a smile, "I do. But this has nothing to do with me."
Brady gave a cold laugh, "Really? Then why did my investigation lead me to White Ocean Group?"
"Mr. Hall, this really has nothing to do with me," Aiden said calmly. "If you want to link it to me, there's nothing I can do."
"I don't want to make things difficult for you, Mr. White, but I need an explanation for this," Brady said, his eyes cold.
Given Aiden's current power, it would take a lot for Brady to take him down.
Without being fully prepared, Brady wouldn't take the risk.
"The person responsible is with me. You can take them anytime," Aiden said, lighting a cigar. "Mr. Hall, that's all I can do."
"Fine." Since Aiden had thrown Lilian under the bus, Brady didn't stay long. There was no point in lingering; there would be plenty of opportunities in the future.
He would make sure to bring Aiden down hard.
