Chapter 290: She asked me to recommend a girlfriend for her, and I'll recommend you.
Violet was waiting for Brady in the parking lot outside the manor where the party was being held, while Brady went to meet Isabella.
Isabella and Ava had been friends for many years.
Brady had long known the real purpose of this party—Isabella and Ava wanted to find him a suitable girlfriend from a similar social background. But Brady didn't like finding a girlfriend this way.
He thought a man should choose his woman by himself.
However, he didn't want to embarrass Isabella, so he decided to meet her first.
At that moment, Isabella was sitting in the luxuriously decorated garden room, chatting with the socialites who came to flatter her while sipping Earl Grey tea.
Each of these socialites wanted to flatter Isabella, hoping she would say something nice about them to Ava.
But all their scheming was in vain; Isabella already had someone in mind—Leana, her cousin's niece. With this connection, she was naturally inclined to favor Leana.
So, while the socialites were busy competing, Isabella quietly said to Leana, "Leana, Ava has already discussed with me. She asked me to recommend a girlfriend for Brady, and I'll recommend you. You'd better make a good impression later."
Of course, Leana would make a good impression, but whenever she thought about Brady secretly dating that trashy commoner Violet, she felt extremely unbalanced and jealous, wishing she could tear Violet apart.
"Aunt Isabella, how should I make a good impression?" Leana asked, controlling her anger.
Isabella smiled, leaned close to Leana's ear, and said, "Ava will be back by the end of the year. Spend more time in Europe during this period and make a good impression. She will naturally remember you."
Leana nodded understandingly.
After Isabella instructed Leana, the butler hurried in from outside, bowed, and began to report, "Mrs. Jones, Mr. Hall is waiting for you outside."
'Brady is here?' Isabella's face immediately lit up with a big smile. "Please invite him in. Why make him wait outside?"
"No, Mr. Hall said it's inconvenient for him to come in," the butler said awkwardly.
Isabella was puzzled. "What's so inconvenient about it?"
The butler had no idea what Brady was thinking and shook his head. "I don't know either."
Isabella thought for a moment and said, "I understand. I'll go see him."
Although Isabella was an elder, given the Hall family's status and wealth in New Future City, she had to take the initiative to meet Brady outside.
After speaking, Isabella went out. In the hallway, she indeed saw Brady standing there.
Isabella immediately walked over and said with a smile, "Brady, come in and join us?"
Brady smiled politely. "No, thank you. I just came to tell you that there's no need to hold this party next time."
Isabella was stunned, not understanding what Brady meant. "This party was also Ava's idea."
Brady knew it. "I'll talk to her." After a pause, he added, "I have something else to do, so I'll be leaving now."
Seeing that Brady was really about to leave, Isabella became anxious. This party was specially organized for him. If the guest of honor didn't show up, it would be meaningless.
She said, "Brady, have a drink before you go? If you leave like this, it puts me in a difficult position."
Brady didn't want to drink anything, but considering Isabella's feelings and the fact that she was an elder, he couldn't refuse her too harshly, so he said, "Alright, I'll have a drink and then leave."
"Good," said Isabella. No matter how many drinks he had, as long as he showed up, the party wouldn't be awkward.
Otherwise, how could Isabella explain to those socialite girls?
