Chapter 644 What Are They Going Back to Crestoria For?
"I meant they went back to Crestoria," Helen quickly clarified when she saw the frightened look on her daughter's face. "They didn't actually go missing."
Juniper finally relaxed. She had really thought her dad and brother had disappeared.
"Why did they both go to Crestoria?" Juniper asked, picking up another slice of toast.
Her dad and brother didn't usually have much business in Crestoria. Even if there was a business trip, they wouldn't go themselves; they would send someone else.
So why did they both go this time?
"Maybe it's business-related?" Helen guessed, not having asked for details.
Juniper nodded, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She had never seen her dad and brother suddenly go to Crestoria together before.
The Lawson family's business was in energy, and all their operations were based around Eldoria. Crestoria didn't need their services; the government managed all energy there.
Were they hiding something from her? The more Juniper thought about it, the more suspicious she became. Were they planning to expand into Crestoria?
She decided to finish her breakfast first and then head to the office to find out. She had never been to Crestoria herself, but if she could, she would go there to find her dad and brother.
With that plan in mind, Juniper quickly finished her breakfast and got ready to go to the office.
Helen watched her rush through her meal and asked, "Are you sure that's enough? Are you full?"
"Yeah, Mom. I'm heading to the office," Juniper replied. She had just graduated from college and was learning the ropes at her dad's company.
"You just got back from vacation. There's no need to rush to work. The company can manage without you," Helen said with a loving smile.
Juniper shook her head. "No, I need to be as good as my brother."
Otherwise, people would definitely mock her for being a useless socialite. In Eldoria, socialites needed to be elite; just having money wasn't enough.
So, she needed to improve her skills and knowledge in all areas.
Helen couldn't argue with her, so she smiled and said, "Alright, but don't overwork yourself."
"I know," Juniper said, blowing her mom a kiss before heading to the office.
When she arrived at the Lawson Corporation in the financial district, Juniper swiped her card and went straight to the CEO's office.
She knocked on the door, and the assistants in the office greeted her with nods and smiles, recognizing her as the Lawson family's socialite.
Leaning against the doorframe, Juniper scanned the room and picked out an assistant from Eldoria. She knew that an assistant from Crestoria wouldn't be straightforward with her about her dad and brother's whereabouts.
"Jonas, can I talk to you for a moment?" Juniper called out, waving him over.
Jonas immediately put down his files and walked over to her. "Ms. Lawson, what can I do for you?"
"Let's talk outside," Juniper said, leading the way out.
Jonas followed her.
Once they were in a quiet hallway, Juniper asked, "Jonas, do you know where my dad and my brother went?"
"Crestoria," Jonas replied honestly.
So, they really went back? Juniper frowned slightly and continued, "Is Lawson Corporation planning to expand into Crestoria?"
Jonas shook his head. "The business division has no such plans at the moment."
"Did my dad or my brother mention anything about it?"
Jonas shook his head again. "No, they didn't."
Juniper understood now. Their trip to Crestoria was definitely suspicious. What were they up to?
She remembered that the Lawson family didn't have any relatives left in Crestoria. Her dad's generation was already considered "Crestoria-born Eldoria residents," with only her grandparents being immigrants.
So there had to be something fishy going on!
After thinking it over, Juniper decided she would go to Crestoria to find them.
