Chapter 660 How Could You Do This to Mom?
"Dad, what's going on? Why all the secrecy?" Juniper's anxiety grew as she saw her father's serious and eager expression.
What was he about to tell her?
"Actually, your brother and I came back because you have a sister," James said slowly, taking a deep breath.
Juniper was stunned.
A sister? What did he mean by that?
"I'm not sure how you and your mom will take this, but you need to know. She's part of the Lawson family too," James continued.
Juniper finally got it. So, her dad came back to find an old flame?
And that old flame had a daughter?
"Dad, are you saying you cheated on Mom when you were younger and had a daughter with someone else?" Juniper's expression turned stiff and displeased.
She wasn't like her brother, who could immediately accept the idea of a sister.
She didn't want another person in the family.
She couldn't accept this.
"Dad, how could you do this to Mom?" Juniper's face grew angrier. Her concern for her father's illness vanished.
She couldn't accept this.
She grabbed her bag, stood up from the chair, and said coldly, "Dad, I don't like this version of you. You've hurt Mom."
With that, she turned and walked out.
James tried to get out of bed to stop her, but Ethan held him back. "Dad, don't move. Stay in bed. I'll go talk to her. I'll convince her."
James wanted to insist, but hearing his son, he stayed in bed.
Maybe Ethan could communicate better than he could.
James let Ethan go after Juniper.
Ethan chased her all the way down to the hospital entrance and finally caught up with her.
To avoid drawing attention, Ethan pulled her to the side of the hospital near the wall. "Juniper, don't talk to Dad like that. It's not what you think."
Juniper frowned, glaring at her brother, and accused him, "Are you crazy? You're Mom's son too. Why aren't you defending her? Are you afraid Dad won't let you inherit Lawson Corporation, so you're siding with him?"
"I told you, you're misunderstanding Dad. He didn't betray Mom. You don't need to be so upset," Ethan said softly.
"If he didn't betray Mom, then how do I have a sister? Tell me, where did this so-called sister come from?" Juniper shouted at her brother, refusing to listen.
She was convinced her dad was a bad man.
A hypocrite who hurt her mom under his gentlemanly facade.
She had always loved and respected her dad the most.
What would Mom do if she found out?
"If you calm down, I'll tell you everything. If you can't, then I'll wait until you do," Ethan said, knowing his sister well.
She was spoiled and stubborn.
Especially when she was angry.
"So, you're admitting that girl is our sister and you've accepted her?" Juniper picked up on her brother's words.
He was really disappointing her.
How could he hurt Mom like this?
"Yes, I accept her as our sister. I think you should too. She's a good girl," Ethan said plainly.
Juniper was furious. She stomped hard on her brother's foot.
She stomped really hard.
Ethan winced in pain and let go of her. Juniper, still fuming, ran out of the hospital.
