Chapter 847 The Police Are Already Investigating Jade's Disappearance
"You heading to the airport? I'll be waiting for you. Already sent you my location," Brady said, trying to keep things casual.
He knew Violet needed something from Darian, so keeping her away from him wasn't gonna fly. He had to figure out a way to make Darian back off on his own.
That joint venture was already a mess.
It wasn't as straightforward as it looked.
With a top-notch designer like Jade suddenly vanishing, Brady figured Darian might have some tricks up his sleeve.
"Okay, Calliope and I are on our way," Violet felt a wave of relief wash over her, hearing Brady's voice. After hanging up, she and Calliope headed to the airport.
On the drive, Calliope couldn't help but vent about Darian's shady side. "Violet, why are you even dealing with a guy like Darian? He's got some kinda angle with you."
Even Calliope was on this now, and Violet felt stuck. She rubbed her temples and said, "I get what you're all sayin', but I need his help right now."
Violet had no other option; otherwise, she wouldn't be working with him.
Calliope got that Violet's company needed Darian's help, which made her uneasy.
After all, Darian had some serious ulterior motives when it came to Violet.
He just hid it too well.
"Look, as long as he doesn't bring up our high school days and sticks to business, he's alright." That's why Violet wasn't too suspicious of him.
But he had mentioned stuff about Brady to Calliope.
The trust they'd built from getting caught in the rain together was gone.
She couldn't stand anyone badmouthing Brady; that was her line in the sand.
"Back when he took me to the school for an interview and kept me dry in the rain, and even before when we worked together, I thought he was solid. Now, I gotta be on my toes," Violet sighed.
For a while, she didn't think Darian was a problem.
But then he said those things and even went so far as to mess with the IV site just to keep talking design with her.
That was when she realized she might've stepped into a mess.
Calliope listened to Violet, didn't react at first, then caught on and grinned, "Violet, you believe me?"
She thought Violet might not take her seriously!
"I trust you," Violet nodded. "It's just, I need Darian's help right now, and I can't afford to fall out with him."
"I get it," Calliope could see where Violet was coming from.
Even if everyone thought Darian was trouble, she couldn't just cut him off.
So, they had to count on Brady to figure something out.
With a schemer like that around, who knew what could happen?
At the airport.
Brady and Eddy got off the plane.
Their bodyguard came over to help with the bags, giving Brady the latest scoop. "Mr. Hall, the cops are already looking into Jade's disappearance."
"They might come sniffing around you."
Brady knew he and Eddy had been to Jade's place and had probably left some traces. But luckily, Eddy had recorded a video on his phone beforehand, so he wasn't too worried about getting called in for questioning.
"Got it."
The bodyguard said, "Mr. Hall, the car's up ahead."
"No need, Violet's gonna be here soon." Brady said, turning to Eddy, "Did you send Violet the info on that design company?"
"Yeah, but she might not have checked it yet," Eddy noted, the email was still unopened.
"Alright." No rush, she'd get to it later tonight.
