While everyone was speculating, Ethan had already walked up to Violet, his gaze gentle. "How's it going? Everything sorted?"
"All taken care of," Violet replied with a smile.
Their exchange, full of unspoken understanding, left the reporters puzzled about the nature of Violet and Ethan's relationship.
Some were curious, while others couldn't resist their urge to gossip and blurted out, "Mr. Lawson, do you know Mrs. Violet Hall?"
Ethan turned to the reporters, smiling warmly and politely. "Yes, I do. And from now on, we are family."
The reporters were stunned.
Family? Did they hear that right? How could Ethan and Violet be family?
Were they distant relatives?
As the reporters continued to speculate about their relationship, Ethan clarified, "Mrs. Violet Hall is my sister, by blood." He had intended to make this known to everyone.
He didn't want Violet and Evelyn to bear any stigma or slander.
"From now on, Lawson Corporation is Violet's family. She is a distinguished member of Lawson Corporation," Ethan added.
With this statement, the reporters were utterly shocked.
They had thought Violet's entry into high society was just a stroke of luck, but it turned out she was incredibly fortunate.
The Lawson family was a globally renowned wealthy family, on par with the Hall family.
It turned out they had been naive, thinking Violet was a Cinderella turned princess.
She was a princess all along!
She was more than a match for Brady.
"Mr. Lawson, could you share how Mrs. Violet Hall became a distinguished member of the Lawson family?" The reporters, having caught wind of this major news, were eager to dig deeper.
Ethan wouldn't divulge any more details. He wrapped an arm around Violet's shoulders, protecting her from the cameras, and said, "Sorry, we won't be revealing any more specifics. I came here today to take this opportunity to clear up any past misunderstandings and harm done to Violet and her mother."
"The interview ends here." With that, Ethan shielded Violet and squeezed through the throng of reporters, leaving with Ava.
Outside, they were met by bodyguards, allowing them to relax.
Violet glanced back to ensure no reporters were following, then turned to Ethan. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
Ethan smiled, "I didn't want to disrupt your plans. I was just adding my support."
Violet's face lit up with a happy smile. "Alright."
Ethan felt a pang of emotion. He looked at her and said, "Violet, when you get the chance, could you acknowledge me as your brother?"
Though he knew she might not accept him immediately, he was willing to wait.
Wait for her to recognize him as her brother.
"Okay. Give me some time." The whole Lawson family situation had been a sudden twist, and she wasn't fully prepared to embrace it yet.
"No problem, we'll all wait for you," Ethan said gently. "By the way, my mom wants to apologize to your mom. Would you allow her to visit your mom's grave? She deeply regrets her past mistakes."
Violet was silent for a moment, looking into Ethan's sincere eyes. After a few seconds of hesitation, she nodded. "Alright, she can."
If she was truly remorseful and willing to apologize, Evelyn would surely sense it.
Meanwhile, the Devereux family had fled the hotel and returned to their temporary apartment.
The elderly Devereux couple were emotionally unstable, so Charlotte helped them to rest before joining Daniel in the living room. "Dad, I'm going to apply for a job at the Hall Group tomorrow."
Daniel was furious, hearing that Charlotte wanted to work for their enemies. He stood up, ready to scold her. "Charlotte, are you trying to drive me mad? Don't you know the Hall Group is partly responsible for Eileen's death?"
Charlotte remained calm, her overseas education having taught her to stay composed in difficult situations. "That's exactly why I need to go. I'll avenge Lilian and Eileen."
"Eventually, the Hall Group and Brady will be mine. Do you think we can't get our revenge?"
Daniel paused, suddenly understanding.
He had forgotten Charlotte was a high-IQ genius.
