Chapter 205 Change in My Room Here

The purpose of Arthur Stanley's call was to inquire about the incident that had made headlines in the morning's entertainment news. It was a matter involving his cousin and a certain Violet Devereux.

Arthur, being the matchmaker who had initially brought the two together, felt a natural sense of concern.

"Have you managed to control the online chatter?" Arthur asked, his fingers drumming on the desktop of his office chair as he spoke to the man on the other end of the line. "I should apologize first."

"Not yet, I've dispatched someone to investigate," replied Brady Hall, extracting a cigarette from a pack on his desk and lighting it. He took a slow, deliberate drag, then exhaled a plume of white smoke before continuing, "This issue is trivial. Don't fret over it."

"If you require assistance, don't hesitate to ask," Arthur offered, a twinge of guilt gnawing at him. After all, he had been the one to introduce Violet Devereux to Brady, and now the situation had escalated.

If mishandled, the incident could potentially destabilize the Hall family's business, JK. Thus, the gravity of the situation was not to be underestimated.

Arthur, of course, had no intention of standing on the sidelines.

"If I can't manage this minor hiccup without your aid, then you're undervaluing me," Brady retorted with a chuckle, clearly unfazed by the situation. "Relax, everything is under control."

"Alright." Arthur knew Brady was competent. His offer to help was driven more by fraternal loyalty than doubt.

"If there's nothing else, I'm going to end the call," Brady said, bringing the cigarette to his thin, sensual lips.

"Alright."

The call concluded, and Brady ambled over to his desk, flicking the ashes into an ashtray. His gaze then landed on Violet Devereux, who was sitting quietly and obediently in a corner, waiting for him.

When she was silent, she was the epitome of obedience.

But when her fiery or defiant side surfaced, she was an undeniable force of nature.

Brady's gaze shifted as Linda entered, having just placed a call to a nearby luxury boutique, requesting a dress to be delivered within five minutes.

The boutique's efficiency was commendable.

Five minutes - not a second more, not a second less - and the delivery was completed.

Following the delivery, Linda entered promptly, carrying the frilly dress in a sleek black gift bag.

"Mr. Hall, Ms. Devereux's dress has arrived," Linda announced respectfully, handing the bag to Brady. He glanced at it and instructed, "Give it to Ms. Devereux."

Linda nodded and moved towards Violet, who was seated on the couch.

Violet was hesitant to accept it; anything from Brady Hall was bound to be extravagant.

Starting prices were typically in the tens of thousands.

Especially dresses from this particular brand, which were notoriously expensive.

Violet Devereux had purchased designer dresses before, similar to those favored by the Devereux family. A base model for the season's dress could easily cost upwards of $8,000.

For Brady Hall, eight grand was pocket change, but for her, it was a considerable sum.

Violet was reluctant to accept anything from him, so she politely declined, “Mr. Hall, my shirt will dry soon enough, but thank you for the offer.”

Brady Hall anticipated her refusal, yet he persisted. He parted his lips to blow a seductive smoke ring before retorting, “Ms. Devereux, do you really plan on attending dinner with me in a drenched shirt, thereby tarnishing the Hall family’s reputation?”

“Remember, Miss Loraine Plahn will be there as well.”

“And we're departing shortly. Are you certain your shirt will be dry by then?”

Violet was at a loss for words.

Her shirt definitely wouldn’t dry in time.

But was it necessary to leave right this instant?

Caught in a quandary, Violet listened as Brady continued, “Ms. Devereux, let’s not waste time.”

“Do you want Loraine to wait for you, or do you want me to keep waiting?”

With that, Violet had no choice but to accept. She rose from the couch, took the bag from Linda, and said, “Mr. Hall, I’ll return the dress to you tomorrow.”

With that matter settled, she prepared to change in the public restroom down the hall.

Brady interjected, “Change in my room here; there's no need to go outside.”

Violet paused mid-step, then realized he was referring to the small bedroom within his office suite, meant for resting.
