Chapter 1068 Lucien Doesn't Want to Dirty His Hands by Actually Killing Him

Austin recognized the Mercedes—it was Lucien's.

Damn it.

It really was Lucien who showed up.

Austin wasn't afraid of anyone, except maybe Lucien.

And he had experienced his wrath before.

Lucien wasn't just a gentleman on the surface; he was a man who could really fight.

Austin's face instinctively turned pale as he remembered Lucien's threat to break his legs.

Thinking of this, Austin quickly broke free from the security guard's grip and prepared to run.

The door of the Mercedes opened.

Lucien, dressed in a white shirt and black slacks, stepped out holding a golf club, his expression dark and menacing.

He slowly walked up to Austin and, without a word, swung the golf club hard at Austin's knee.

The blow was heavy.

Austin could feel his kneecap and ligaments shattering.

The intense pain hit him, and he immediately clutched his knee, squatting down and crying out in agony.

"Austin, I told you not to mess with the Hart family. Did you think I was joking?" Lucien tapped Austin's skull with the golf club as he spoke.

The club was cold, sending a shiver down Austin's spine.

Just moments ago, he had been so arrogant in front of Douglas, but now he was cowering like a beaten dog, clutching his knee and whimpering, not daring to say a word.

"Do you want to be paralyzed for life?" Lucien continued.

"Lucien, if you hit me, you won't be able to stay at the school either," Austin tried to fight back.

Lucien sneered, "I've already resigned. Think carefully about what else you can use to threaten me. Otherwise, once I take over the Moreau Corporation, I can make you suffer a hundred times over."

Austin was stunned for a moment, then, after a few seconds, he frowned and trembled, giving in, "I won't dare."

"I don't want to hear lies."

"I promise I won't bother Emily anymore," Austin replied, trembling in pain.

"Emily is under my protection now. If you touch her or her family, you're touching me. Got it?" Lucien tapped his skull again with the golf club.

If he broke it, Austin would be a complete idiot.

Austin didn't dare to act tough in front of him anymore, gritting his teeth and admitting defeat.

"Go back to your previous life with some dignity. Find your ex-fiancée and your child, and live a decent life. Don't shamelessly rely on women," Lucien said, not wanting to dirty his hands by actually killing him. He threw the golf club on the ground and gave Austin a hard kick. "Also, the police will be here soon. Take care of yourself."

With that, he got back in the car and left.

Austin, looking ashen, was guarded by the Hart Group's security, waiting for the police to arrive.

He wanted to struggle one last time, but the sharp pain in his knee reminded him clearly that if he harassed the Hart family again, Lucien would make him suffer even more.

This time, he had truly lost.

And he lost miserably, gaining nothing.

Meanwhile, at the hospital.

Violet knew Emily had woken up, so she brought some food that Hellen had prepared for her and went to visit her.

Pushing open the door to the hospital room, she saw Emily leaning against the bed, drinking water. She looked much better, her face no longer as pale as it had been the night before.

Violet felt a wave of relief.

She walked over slowly, placed the food on the table, and, holding back her tears, said, "Emily, you're finally awake. Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?"

Emily put down the water cup and looked at Violet, saying, "I already ate a little earlier. I'm not hungry now. I'll have some later."

Violet nodded, closed the lid of the thermos, and sat beside her, gently holding her hand, which still had an IV needle in it. She couldn't help but shed a few tears, saying, "Why did you do something so foolish for a man like that? He's not worth it."

Emily lowered her head, her eyes also a bit red, "I won't do it again." She had been too angry that day.

In her anger and helplessness, she had taken that step.

But after a brush with death, she realized the importance of life.

"Next time, I'll live well."

Violet wiped her tears and smiled, "Good. I still want to see you get married and have babies!"

"Okay."

"Everything will be fine. You still have us! We'll help you," Violet continued, not wanting to tell her about the drama that had unfolded at the Hart Group that morning.

She didn't want to worry her.

But fortunately, Lucien had already taken care of it.

Emily nodded, "Okay."

The two friends chatted for a while longer. When the doctor came to check on Emily, Violet stood by and watched. Just then, her phone rang. Violet thought it might be Brady calling to check on Emily.

But when she looked at the screen, it was Max.

Not wanting to disturb Emily, Violet took the phone out to the hallway.

In the hallway, she swiped the screen to answer.

Max's anxious voice came through, "Violet, where are you? There's been an incident on set. All the costumes and props have been burned."

Violet's left eyelid twitched instantly.

Something had really happened.

She had worried about this when she sent Aria to the set, but she thought Aria wouldn't dare, right?

She hadn't expected trouble so soon.

If Aria was behind this, Violet wouldn't hesitate to fire her, regardless of Matilda's feelings.
