Chapter 961 Dear, You Are So Shameless, Emily Is Still Here
Dinner was booked at a historic restaurant by a river.
Violet had little fondness for spicy food, but she loved this Mexican place because the window seats offered a stunning view of the river, lit up by soft, yellow lights.
The night was calm, the moonlight gentle, blending with the hazy glow to cast a shimmering reflection on the water.
It was the perfect setting, truly beautiful.
Violet and Emily sat across from each other, waiting for the two guys who hadn't shown up yet.
They quietly sipped the restaurant's lemon water, admiring the gradually lit-up river scene outside.
Their quiet appreciation was interrupted by Brady's arrival.
Brady had just left the office, still dressed in his work clothes.
A white shirt and black trousers.
His sleeves were rolled up, giving him a relaxed yet sophisticated look.
He walked over to Violet and took a seat beside her.
Naturally, his first glance was at his beloved Violet. "What are you looking at?"
Violet snapped out of her reverie, turning to him with a tender look in her eyes. "Just enjoying the view." She paused, then asked, "Did you just get off work?"
Brady nodded, wrapping an arm around her waist. "I wanted to come earlier, but a last-minute video meeting delayed me by ten minutes."
"You haven't been waiting long, have you?"
Emily quickly shook her head, saying, "Mr. Hall, no, we just got here a few minutes ago."
And Austin hadn't arrived yet. "Austin isn't here yet."
Brady, unfamiliar with the name, inquired, "Austin?"
"Sorry, darling, I forgot to mention Austin in my message." Violet leaned closer to Brady, explaining, "Austin Roberts is Emily's latest date."
"We're having dinner together, so we invited him to join us."
Brady acknowledged with an "Oh," instinctively glancing at Emily. He remembered she seemed to like Lucien.
So, she had moved on?
"Don't ask him too many questions, okay?" Violet continued.
Brady's presence was always commanding, and she didn't want to intimidate Austin, who was more reserved.
"Am I that nosy?" Brady chuckled at her caution.
"I'm just worried your presence might be overwhelming," Violet winked at him, playfully flattering him.
Brady appreciated her compliment, his handsome face breaking into a tender smile that was hard to look away from. Without hesitation, he leaned down and kissed Violet's forehead, whispering affectionately, "Your sweet talk deserves a taste later."
Violet's intention was to ensure Brady didn't put too much pressure on Austin.
But he took her compliment and turned it into a flirtatious remark right in front of Emily.
Violet pinched his hand, scolding him softly, "You're shameless, Emily is right here!"
"It's fine, we're all friends."
Violet pushed him away, not wanting to engage further.
Emily watched their affectionate exchange, feeling it was indeed fine since they were close friends, but she couldn't help but envy them a little.
When would she find a love like Violet's?
As Emily lamented her luck, Austin finally arrived.
Just as Violet had guessed, he had a scholarly air about him.
However, she understood why Emily was hesitant. Emily had always been drawn to handsome faces; even her favorite celebrities were the epitome of good looks.
And she had previously been infatuated with the strikingly handsome Lucien.
However, Austin was quite ordinary in appearance, standing at an average height.
Still, Violet thought that if he had a good character, these external factors shouldn't matter.
It all depended on what Emily wanted.
