Chapter 848 How Could She Refuse Him
Ten minutes later.
Violet and Calliope pulled up.
As soon as they got out of the car, they rushed over to Brady and his group.
Seeing no police officers around Brady, Violet let out a big sigh of relief.
Without caring about the people watching, she threw herself into Brady's arms, hugging him tightly. "I thought you wouldn't be back until tomorrow."
"Things didn't go as planned, so I came back early," Brady said, holding her just as tightly and affectionately patting her head.
"As long as you're safe," Violet said.
She wasn't too concerned about wealth anymore; she just wanted to spend her life with him, growing old together.
Material things didn't matter much to her now; what she had was enough.
Brady chuckled, holding her close. "But there might be some trouble tomorrow."
"What kind of trouble?" Violet immediately looked up at him, her relaxed mood vanishing.
"The police might come to investigate," Brady admitted, deciding not to hide it from her.
He had originally gone to find Jade to surprise her, but things hadn't gone as planned.
Not only did he not find Jade, but he also ended up with a heap of trouble.
"Are the police investigating you?" Violet was shocked. So what Darian said was true?
How did he know?
What exactly happened?
"Sweetheart, did something happen?"
Brady took her hand and led her toward the car. "Let's talk in the car."
Violet nodded obediently and followed him to the Mercedes parked in front.
Once inside, with the doors closed, Brady glanced at the people outside before speaking. "I went on this trip to find Jade, but when I got there, she was gone."
Violet listened in surprise, struggling to keep up with Brady's story. "You went to find Jade?"
"Yeah, for you," Brady said, not hiding his affection and assertiveness. "To be honest, I don't like Darian hanging around you."
Violet understood and burst into laughter, wrapping her arms around Brady's neck and giving him a sweet kiss. "Are you afraid I'll run away?"
"Or worried that I'm not charming enough and you'll leave me?"
"Let's just say I'm insecure. I'm afraid you won't want me," Brady murmured, their breaths mingling, creating an intimate and tender atmosphere.
The previously empty car was now filled with warmth and affection.
"I'll always want you," Violet reassured him, kissing him again. "I've been sleeping alone these past two nights, and I've missed you."
Brady enjoyed her sweet words, feeling warmth spread through him. He tightened his hold on her waist and gently kissed her back. "I'll make it up to you tonight."
Violet blushed and nodded, kissing him a few more times before getting back to the topic. "Darian seemed to know you'd be questioned by the police. How did he know?"
Brady playfully tapped her nose. "We found out something on the way back."
"What was it?"
"Two years ago, Darian was Jade's final and most important disciple. Then he went abroad and made a name for himself."
Violet was stunned, hardly able to believe it. "Really? He was Jade's student?" She had never known that.
She only knew he had suddenly risen to fame abroad.
Nothing more.
"Would I lie to you?" Brady chuckled.
"No wonder he knew," she said, finally understanding.
"Just pretend you don't know about this. Darian has more surprises than you think. Focus on your design competition, and I'll handle the rest," Brady advised.
Violet paused, thinking it over. "Do you suspect him?"
"Just act like you know nothing, do your thing, and keep a certain distance from him," Brady instructed. Some things were too messy for Violet to get involved in.
Violet wanted to ask more about the situation and whether it was dangerous, but Brady always had his way of handling things.
She didn't need to worry too much; otherwise, she might complicate things for him.
"Let's not talk about other men. I'll get jealous," Brady said, not wanting to mention the cunning Darian. He pulled Violet closer for another kiss.
Violet's face turned red from his persistent kisses, but she didn't want to push him away.
They hadn't seen each other for two days; how could she refuse him?
So she let him have his way in the car.
