Chapter 395 Brady Didn't Cling to Her Tonight
"Wait, are you saying there's more to their story than we know?" Brady stepped closer to Violet, his eyes soft.
"I'm just guessing. Fanny's supposed to be at the design launch show tomorrow. It's a huge deal, and then Mr. Green suddenly tells her to quit. She'd definitely run to Laura for help, and then..."
Violet had a hunch Laura did something shady. Laura was always sneaky like that.
Violet's been suspicious of Laura ever since she got poisoned.
So if Fanny went to Laura, she must've been desperate. But Laura wouldn't cross Max for Fanny, so maybe they had a falling out.
Bottom line, Violet thought their attack was super fishy. It wasn't that simple.
"Let's leave this to the cops for now. We shouldn't get involved. Sometimes we just make things messier." Brady got where Violet was coming from, gently putting his hand on her shoulder and giving it a few soft pats.
This was the first time they really talked about stuff.
It was a good start. At least for Brady, Violet was becoming more important.
Maybe at first, Brady just thought Violet was fun and wanted to mess around.
But now that he knew Violet had his two kids, his attitude towards her had changed without him even realizing it.
In their daily interactions, he genuinely treated her like his girlfriend and future wife, not just someone to play with.
It was a weird feeling.
Brady's logic made sense, and Violet didn't argue. Her thoughts were just wild guesses based on Laura's past shady actions, and she didn't know the real deal.
So, like Brady said, leave it to the cops.
Otherwise, if they jumped to conclusions and it wasn't true, it would be a mess.
"Alright, get some rest. Tomorrow's your first runway event, and I'll be there to cheer you on." Brady didn't want to talk about Laura and the others anymore.
They weren't worth his time.
He was only interested in Violet now.
"You're going too?" Violet looked at Brady in surprise, her whole body tense like Brady going to the show would mess things up for her somehow.
Brady tapped her nose playfully, "Don't forget JK is my company. Of course, I'll be there."
He had a point, and Violet awkwardly nodded.
She was just a bit nervous. She was worried that in such a public setting, if Brady did something, everyone would know about them.
But she quickly brushed off that thought. She was sure Brady wouldn't make it public; she was overthinking it.
She calmed herself and said, "Okay."
"Get some rest." Brady didn't push her tonight.
He was worried Violet couldn't handle it.
She didn't want to be around Brady all the time either. He always did some crazy stuff, which made her feel pressured. She quickly nodded, stood up, and went to find Hellen and the babies. Brady checked his watch and headed to the study to work alone.
That night seemed peaceful but was destined to be anything but.
At the hospital, Fanny and Laura were both in critical condition, and Lilian had started to make her move. Lilian planned to ruin Violet's image at the show tomorrow.
She wanted to give Violet, the rising designer, a taste of trouble.
