Chapter 869 Violet, You Were Not Like This Before
"You sure know how to play it safe," Brady growled, his teeth clenched as he read the paper.
No wonder this slick guy was thriving overseas, Brady thought. It took some serious skill to make it out there.
"Mr. Hall, right back at you. Your acting chops are pretty impressive, too," Darian sneered, his voice icy. "You've even managed to corrupt Violet."
"Do you know how well-behaved Violet was in school? Why'd you have to lead her astray?" Darian's fingers tightened as he spoke, like he wanted to crush Brady.
"People change. I wasn't corrupted by him," Violet defended Brady. She liked who she was now.
Brady cherished her, gave her the freedom to do what she loved, and didn't interfere.
Brady could pamper her all the time.
She was very content with this life.
"Violet, you've changed. You weren't like this before," Darian said, pinching the bridge of his nose, looking both regretful and worried for her. "You need to be re-educated."
"Mr. Voss, mind your own business. The police will be here soon," Brady restrained his urge to punch him, not wanting to get involve.
He had already called the police when he arrived.
Darian didn't show any fear or intention to flee. He remained seated on the couch, legs crossed, looking relaxed, as if he had anticipated this.
He was as calm as an outsider.
Violet, on the other hand, was a bit worried.
Darian had that confession letter, and Jade was unconscious. It seemed she had been held for several days. If she hadn't had any water, who knew if she would wake up?
With that confession letter, the police would follow protocol and arrest Brady.
The thought of Brady going to the police station again made Violet grip his hand tightly, afraid he would leave.
"Darling, what do we do?"
"What's there to fear? Do you think I can't handle him?" Brady was as calm as Darian.
It was just a piece of paper. Even if it pointed to him, he had ways to deal with it.
"But he has Jade's signed confession and fingerprints," Violet knew Darian wouldn't have a fake.
He might have coerced Jade into signing it over the past few days.
It was possible.
"You'll see how I make him disappear from your sight," Brady said coldly. "So, don't worry too much."
Violet wanted to say more, but seeing Brady's confident demeanor, she could only nod obediently.
They would wait for the police to arrive.
Five minutes later, the police arrived as expected.
With Jade found and sent to the hospital, everyone at the scene had to go to the police station for questioning.
At the station, Darian handed over Jade's signed confession without saying much.
The police weren't fools. They didn't immediately believe Brady was behind it just because of the confession.
Especially since Jade was found in Darian's apartment, not Brady's.
"Darian, the person was found at your place. Who do you think we should suspect based on this letter?" the police asked during the interrogation.
Darian remained calm, hands folded on his lap, and said slowly, "Sir, my teacher was indeed at my place, but I only received her today."
"Why didn't you call the police?"
"She was unconscious when she arrived. I took care of her first."
"Who brought her?"
Darian raised an eyebrow, feigning anger. "One of my other assistants. I didn't expect to have a traitor in my midst."
"By the way, Sir, this assistant will be coming in to confess soon."
