Chapter 265 Violet Really Challenged Brady’s Patience
"Hellen, I’m sorry for making you worry," Violet said, picking up Henry and Nicole. She looked apologetic as she gazed at Hellen, who was on the verge of tears.
Hellen gently stroked her hair and said, "As long as you're safe, that's all that matters. You have no idea how worried I was."
"Okay, I won't be so reckless and casually return to the Devereux family in the future." With this lesson in mind, she definitely wouldn't easily return to the Devereux family. Walking to the sofa with Henry and Nicole in her arms, Violet said, "Hellen, let's move out tomorrow. I'll resign in a few days."
"Mainly because it's not safe here. Pelinka came here last time, and I'm afraid she might cause trouble behind our backs," Violet continued, "You should move to Emily's place earlier. I'll feel more at ease. Emily's apartment is very safe."
Hellen listened to Violet. "Okay. If you say move, we'll move. This house is already listed with the real estate agency. If someone wants to buy or view the house, we'll come back to see."
"Okay." Violet patted Henry and Nicole's heads. "Have you two taken a bath?"
Henry shook his head and said in a sweet, obedient voice, "Wait for Mommy."
Nicole still couldn't speak.
Henry saw Nicole didn't know what to say, so he reached out like a little adult and touched the bangs on her forehead, saying, "You are good."
Nicole obediently smiled when Henry touched her hair.
Violet looked at these two cute and obedient little ones, feeling warm inside. Indeed, family is the warmest harbor. She hugged Henry and Nicole tighter, gently saying, "Babies, how about Mommy gives you a bath? Tomorrow, we will be in our new home."
After saying that, Violet, along with Hellen, carried the two little ones to the bathroom for a bath.
However, while filling the bathtub with water, Hellen held Henry and said to Violet, "Violet, Brady came by tonight, and that's when I found out you were missing."
"I know. He rescued me," Violet said as she tested the water temperature with her hand, feeling somewhat sad and conflicted, "I owe him another favor."
"What are you going to do?" Hellen also wanted to avoid owing favors, especially not to a man like Brady.
"I plan to treat him to a meal," Violet said.
At the moment, a meal was the only way she could repay him for saving her life. Violet couldn't agree to anything else.
"That's fine. Just invite him sooner rather than later," Hellen said, grateful for his help. However, considering Brady's intention to do a paternity test, she preferred to keep her distance.
"Alright, I understand," Violet withdrew her hand from the water and began helping Nicole and Henry undress for their bath.
As Henry and Nicole played with foam during the bath, Violet ended up covered in foam.
Unfortunately, she had a scratch on her finger, which stung when exposed to the soapy water, hindering the wound's healing. So, she couldn't continue washing them and asked Hellen to help instead.
Violet sat aside, watching them play.
After a while, Brady sent a message to her.
Brady: [Have you arrived home?]
Violet opened it and replied: [Mr. Hall, I have arrived home. Thank you for today.]
Brady didn't need her thanks at all.
Brady: [Remember to reach out to me if you need anything in the future.]
This statement sounded indulgent, and Violet felt a bit strange.
Violet: [Thank you, Mr. Hall.]
Brady: [You know I don't want your thanks.]
Violet understood that, but she couldn't help it. She bit her lip and replied: [Mr. Hall, I will treat you to dinner some other day.]
Glancing at Violet's response, Brady's thin lips twitched silently. Violet was really testing his patience. After a brief thought, he replied: [Alright, then treat me to a meal tomorrow.]
In fact, Brady didn't intend to dine out; he wanted Violet to cook for him personally at the apartment.
Unaware that Brady’s desire for privacy, Violet relaxed, thinking that agreeing to the dinner had lightened her mood.
Violet: [Okay.]
