Chapter 703 I Want to Reward You
"Let's not get into that. I mainly came to see you," Arthur said with a sigh, not wanting to dive into those headache-inducing matters.
"I'm doing alright," Brady replied, patting the spot on his thigh where he'd been injured.
The stitches had already healed, and the pain was minimal.
He figured he'd be out of the hospital in a couple of days.
After a brief pause, he added, "Lawson Corporation wants to do some business with me. Are you interested in joining?"
"That's a resource from Violet's family. I can't just take advantage of that," Arthur replied, not wanting to benefit unfairly.
"Don't give me that crap. We're close friends, aren't we? Besides, your uncle's been breathing down your neck. If you expand a bit, he won't be so cocky," Brady said, having already thought it through.
The Hall Group didn't necessarily need Lawson Corporation's investment, but considering Lawson Corporation's global standing, partnering with them would undoubtedly elevate their company.
Such a win-win situation called for sharing with a good friend.
"I'll handle the Stanley family issues," Arthur said, appreciating Brady's good intentions.
"Then there's no need to overthink it. This collaboration will benefit you," Brady continued to encourage him.
Arthur knew Brady genuinely wanted to help him, so he couldn't help but smile wryly and say, "Looks like I have no choice but to accept your offer."
Brady nodded, "Good. Then it's settled."
Just as he finished speaking, Violet and Ava arrived from the Devereux family briefing.
Seeing Arthur, whom they hadn't seen in a while, Violet and Ava were both surprised.
"Mr. Stanley, what brings you here?" Violet greeted him first.
"I heard Brady was injured, so I came to check on him," Arthur said, standing up to offer his seat to the pregnant Violet.
Violet smiled and sat down without hesitation.
Ava walked to the other side of Brady's bed, looking around to make sure everything was fine before asking with concern, "Brady, why didn't you tell the family about your injury? We were all worried."
"It's nothing, just a minor injury," Brady replied gently.
Ever since Ava had accepted Violet, Brady's attitude towards her had softened considerably.
Ava sighed, "Be more careful in the future."
"I will."
"Since Violet is here, I won't intrude. Remember to come by next week," Arthur said, not wanting to interrupt the couple's time together, and left.
Seeing this, Ava quickly said, "I have work at the office. Violet, you stay with Brady."
Violet stood up to see her off, but Ava stopped her, saying, "No need to see me out. We're family. Don't be so formal. Come by my office for coffee sometime."
Violet nodded obediently, "Okay."
Ava smiled warmly, gently patted Violet's shoulder, and left.
Suddenly, the spacious VIP room was left with just the couple.
Brady had been wanting to spend some alone time with Violet.
Now that everyone had left, he immediately got out of bed and started walking towards her.
Violet, seeing him get out of bed, quickly pressed him down, saying, "What are you doing? If you move now, the stitches might tear open!"
"It's not that serious. It's already healed," Brady said, knowing his body well.
But seeing Violet so worried about him, Brady felt a surge of masculine satisfaction.
His eyes softened as he pulled her into his lap, gently caressing her smooth, porcelain-like face. "You did great today. I want to reward you."
"What kind of reward?" Violet asked, genuinely expecting a gift.
She looked at him with anticipation.
But what made her happiest was Brady's recognition of her efforts.
