Chapter 742 I Just Mind You Getting Close to Other Men
"Why do you smell like men's cologne?" Brady asked, a hint of jealousy in his voice as he gently pinched her soft jaw.
Violet had never used men's cologne, so she was completely baffled by his question.
She looked at Brady with a puzzled expression, seeing the seriousness in his eyes.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Do I smell like that?" she said, still confused.
She couldn't detect anything unusual.
"It's men's cologne, and it's a high-end brand. There are several types, and you have the most expensive one on you," Brady said slowly, his voice magnetic.
Violet felt like she was in a fog, but she understood that he was implying she had been messing around.
Her face darkened instantly, and she snapped at him, "Are you accusing me of cheating?"
"I'm not accusing you of cheating. I'm just curious where the cologne came from," Brady said, lowering his voice to soothe her when he saw she was upset. "Don't be mad. I'm a guy, and I'm sensitive about these things."
After all, no man would be okay with his wife smelling like another man's cologne.
"But I don't know. I spent the afternoon with Emily at the Deconstructionist Academy, and it was all girls there," Violet said, feeling a bit aggrieved.
Seeing her upset made Brady anxious.
He should trust his wife; they had been through life and death together and shouldn't doubt each other's feelings.
So, he quickly hugged Violet and continued to comfort her, "Don't be mad. I was wrong to question you like that. I just get jealous when you get close to other men."
He cared about her so much.
If he didn't care, he wouldn't be questioning her over a bit of cologne.
"But I don't know why I smell like men's cologne." Violet hadn't seen any men that afternoon, not even clients.
She couldn't figure out where the cologne had come from.
But then she remembered that while waiting for Emily in the hallway at the Deconstructionist Academy, someone had accidentally bumped into her, and a man had helped her up.
Maybe she had brushed against his cologne?
That seemed like the only explanation.
"Forget it. I don't doubt you," Brady said, worried she would stay mad and ignore him.
He gently rubbed her hair, trying to calm her down.
Violet wrapped her arms around his shoulders and said, "I think I remember now. While I was waiting for Emily outside the classroom at the Deconstructionist Academy, someone bumped into me, and a man helped me up. It must have been his cologne."
"Okay." Brady was reassured by her explanation.
"So, you don't doubt me anymore, right?" Violet asked, looking straight at him.
Feeling guilty, Brady quickly tried to appease her, cupping her face and starting to kiss her. "Honey, don't look at me like that. I was wrong."
Violet's lips tingled from his kisses, and she let out a small sound, no longer truly angry.
Instead, she started to enjoy his kisses.
After that, the issue with Darian passed like a breeze, causing no further trouble.
Time flew by, and over three months had passed.
Brady had been busy dealing with Aiden over the Harbor Bay project.
Violet's belly had grown, but she didn't show much, so wearing loose dresses hid her pregnancy.
During these months, the genius designer Darian had been elusive, and JK couldn't get in touch with him.
Other design companies couldn't reach him either; it seemed like Darian was deliberately avoiding contact, staying hidden.
Charlotte had been waiting for an opportunity, so she hadn't shown her true colors yet.
Violet was now in her second trimester, feeling a bit more sluggish than before.
She usually spent her mornings at the office and went home in the afternoons to rest and spend time with her child.
Before she knew it, the weekend had arrived.
Emily wanted her to meet Lucien.
She had been pursuing him for a while, and he had finally agreed to meet her today.
Emily was nervous and insisted that Violet come along.
Violet couldn't refuse, so she agreed to go with her.
