Chapter 716 There Was a Striking Red Lip Print
Brady flipped open the file she handed him and, after turning just one page, he noticed a bright red lipstick mark in the top corner of the document.
A lipstick mark—clearly a hint.
Brady's eyes darkened immediately.
He wasn't fond of new employees who liked to play such tricks.
So, after seeing the lipstick mark, he looked up at Charlotte, who was speaking confidently.
She seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place her.
Brady watched her for a moment, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the table as he suppressed his irritation and continued to listen to her report.
The report ended quickly.
Brady began to critique their work and then moved on to discuss the collaboration between the two departments.
After the discussion, the two-hour meeting was nearly over.
Everyone gathered their things and left the conference room one by one.
Brady and Eddy had some matters to discuss, so they stayed behind.
Of course, Charlotte didn't leave immediately either.
She gathered her things and walked over, saying with a hint of charm, "Mr. Hall, sorry to bother you, but I have a question. May I ask you?"
She knew she couldn't discuss personal matters with Brady right away.
Otherwise, it would ruin her image in his eyes.
Brady, wanting to address the lipstick mark, said, "Ms. Devereux, go ahead."
"During the meeting, our PR department suggested expanding the Hall Group's brand effect, but the executive office only wants us to maintain a good public image. I believe that for a company to develop long-term, creating a strong brand effect is essential," Charlotte remarked confidently.
Brady listened calmly and replied, "I'll consider your suggestion, Ms. Devereux. This meeting was for discussing development, not making final decisions."
Charlotte nodded, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the handsome and charismatic man before her.
She hadn't understood Brady's allure before.
Now she did.
He was the kind of man who could make her heart race with just one look.
Charlotte was even more determined to win him over.
He was too perfect, too outstanding.
"Ms. Devereux," Brady said, looking at her with an even tone, "do you know what overstepping boundaries means?"
Charlotte was taken aback, not understanding his meaning.
She blinked deliberately and smiled, "Mr. Hall, I don't quite understand what you mean?"
Brady continued coldly, "Ms. Devereux, you graduated from Aldwych University, right? With your intelligence, you should know what I'm talking about."
Now, Charlotte understood his implication.
She frowned for a moment but quickly smoothed it out, not feeling flustered by his accusation.
Instead, she shamelessly said, "Mr. Hall, are you referring to the lipstick mark?"
"Sorry for the misunderstanding. While preparing the report this morning, I accidentally touched my lips, leaving a mark. I intended to replace the document, but the meeting was about to start, so I didn't. If this made you feel I overstepped, I apologize. I'll be more careful next time," Charlotte explained logically and clearly.
She was indeed a top student.
She showed no embarrassment or panic at being caught, remaining calm and composed in her explanation.
Brady thought that since he had already hinted at her not to overstep, someone as clear-headed as her would be quite suitable for the Hall Group's crisis PR department.
So he said, "Ms. Devereux, as long as you understand. You may go."
Charlotte nodded again, sensibly not lingering or saying anything unnecessary, and walked out of the conference room gracefully.
Once outside, Charlotte suddenly turned back to glance at the conference room.
A smile tugged at her lips. She had fallen for Brady. He was domineering, smart, and irresistibly handsome.
