Chapter 929 Miles Never Brought Women Here

The next day, the sun rose slowly from the sapphire horizon, its golden rays spreading like a delicate mist over the ocean, touching every leaf and house on Azurine Isle.

Violet had spent the night in a feverish haze, barely aware of her surroundings.

The only images that flashed through her mind were of Brady holding her and their three precious children.

It was these images that gave her the strength to endure the high fever.

She couldn't die in a foreign land; she had to live and bring Julie back to see Brady and the kids.

This determination helped her wake up after a night of struggle.

When she finally opened her eyes, her eyelids felt heavy, and her head was pounding, but at least she was awake.

She looked around and saw a wooden, diamond-patterned ceiling and a chandelier emitting a soft yellow light.

Where was she?

Violet stared at the chandelier for a few seconds, then looked down at herself. At some point, someone had changed her into a comfortable white cotton dress. Suddenly, she realized Julie wasn't in the room.

Where was Julie?

Violet's eyes widened as she tried to piece together what had happened.

Last night, she had tried to kill Miles but failed.

He had pulled her into the sea with him.

She had almost drowned, and then they had made it to shore, where she had started to get sick.

After that, she had passed out and couldn't remember anything else.

Had Brady found them?

Otherwise, how could she be lying safely in a bed?

As Violet was lost in thought, the bedroom door opened. It wasn't Julie who walked in, but Miles, now dressed in casual clothes.

Without his military uniform, Miles still had a certain charm.

But he wasn't a good man.

And he didn't seem to care about propriety, walking straight into the room and standing by her bed, looking at her with cold eyes.

Seeing that she seemed fine, he said indifferently, "If you're feeling better, I'll let Mr. Hall know to come get you."

"Where's Julie?" Violet shot up from the bed, clutching the blanket around herself, watching him warily.

Miles scoffed at her defensive posture. "You don't need to worry. I won't touch you. As for Julie, we will take her. You and Mr. Hall should stay out of it."

With that, Miles turned to leave.

Violet frowned, dropping the blanket and stepping out of bed barefoot. "What if I refuse to leave?"

Without turning around, Miles said, "Then you and Mr. Hall can stay on this island for a few more days."

The implication was clear: they would take Julie and leave her behind.

Violet understood immediately.

She hurried after him, pressing, "Where are you hiding, Julie?"

Miles had no patience for her questions. He had already shown her more tolerance than usual.

Ignoring her, he continued walking out.

Seeing that he wasn't going to answer, Violet, worried about Julie's safety, followed him closely.

Miles went downstairs, and so did she.

In the living room, an older maid who was tidying up looked surprised to see the beautiful Crestoria woman following Miles.

Miles never brought women here.

This island belonged to his mother, and he wouldn't bring just anyone here.

So, who was this beautiful woman to Miles?

And there had been another pretty girl here last night.

But the maid hadn't seen the other girl this morning.
