Chapter 1019 Not Even Engaged to Emily Yet, So Eager to Reveal the Criminal Nature?
After being forced to take a thorough shower, Emily finally arrived.
Lucien had personally driven her over.
Violet's anger had mostly dissipated. She changed into a clean robe and went downstairs to greet Emily, while Brady called Arthur to come over since he needed to set up the park for the event.
However, Emily didn't look too good. She had been forced to stay at Lucien's house last night.
Although nothing substantial had happened, the kiss had made Emily very upset.
When she got out of Lucien's car, she wanted to head straight into Violet's house without looking back.
Lucien grabbed her and said, "After the wedding, I'll take you somewhere. You'll see what kind of person Austin really is."
"I don't want to go," Emily said coldly, pulling her hand away.
"Seems like whatever he gave you last night didn't change anything?" Lucien sneered, his eyes darkening.
"I trust him," Emily said deliberately.
In truth, she had already started to believe that Austin was responsible for what happened last night.
But she didn't want to be controlled by Lucien.
So she stubbornly said it.
Lucien laughed, "No worries. Once you come with me to that place, you'll understand."
"I'm not going," Emily said, wanting to keep her distance from him.
"I've been invited to Mr. Hall's wedding, too. We'll go together," Lucien said, seemingly unfazed by her refusal.
Without waiting for Emily to respond, he got back in his car and drove away.
Emily stood at the door, biting her lip lightly in frustration.
How could she let him sway her?
"Emily?" Violet opened the door and came out.
Emily turned around, seeing Violet, and quickly tried to compose herself, forcing a somewhat awkward smile. "Violet, I'm sorry I'm late."
She had promised to come over at 7 to help Violet try on her wedding dress.
But it was already 9 am.
Emily felt embarrassed.
"It's okay, come on in," Violet said, not minding the delay, and took her hand to lead her into the living room.
Once in the living room, Violet had the maid prepare coffee and fruit snacks for them.
"Where are the kids?" Emily asked, noticing the house seemed empty.
"They're over at Matilda's."
Emily nodded, "What about your makeup artist and the wedding planners?"
"They'll be here at 10," Violet said, taking her hand and leading her upstairs. "Let's go to the dressing room and look at the wedding dress."
Although she was annoyed with Aria for causing trouble, she had calmed down in the bathroom for half an hour and decided not to back down.
Aria might be aggressive, but Violet wasn't weak either. Why should she sulk?
So she planned to wear the wedding dress, but she would alter the zipper herself.
Emily followed her upstairs.
Once they were alone, Violet asked softly, "What happened with Lucien last night?"
Mentioning last night with Lucien made Emily blush.
She couldn't deny it; despite her dislike for him, kissing him felt incredibly good.
Emily had never kissed anyone before; her first kiss was with Lucien.
And it wasn't a bad experience.
"It's a long story. Last night, I went to a school party with Austin, drank some juice, and passed out. Lucien took me home but didn't touch me. He called a private doctor for me," Emily said, summarizing the key points.
"Who drugged you?" Violet understood now. She had thought they were suddenly together.
Lucien seemed to be a gentleman, not taking advantage of the situation.
"Austin, according to Lucien, but I don't believe it," Emily said, conflicted.
Part of her believed it, but another part found it hard to accept.
Violet wasn't surprised to hear it was Austin. Brady had been right; Austin wasn't a good guy. He hadn't even proposed to Emily yet and was already showing his true colors?
"Has he contacted you?" Violet asked, thinking for a moment.
