Chapter 306 Powerful and Profound
Violet lingered by the office door until Brady finally noticed her. His eyes narrowed slightly, and with a warm, mellow voice, he called out, "Come here."
She walked over to his desk, ready to sit in one of the chairs. But Brady patted his long legs and said, "Sit here."
Violet froze, staring at his legs. He wanted her to sit on his lap.
Her ears turned red with embarrassment as she hesitated.
"Come on, or do I need to get up and carry you over?" Brady's voice was indulgent but also teasing.
His voice made her heart race. Before he could stand, she quickly moved and awkwardly sat on his lap for the first time.
Since she had agreed to date Brady, she couldn't keep pretending to be reserved, especially since she needed his help against the Devereux family.
No point in acting morally lofty or upright.
With that in mind, she felt a bit more comfortable on his lap, though still a little embarrassed.
"Mr. Hall, where are we going for dinner?" she asked, placing her hand on his desk.
Brady wrapped his hand around her waist, gently tightening his grip. Leaning back in his chair, he lazily said, "What do you want to eat? I'm good with anything."
"I'm good with anything too," Violet said, biting her lip, her breath unsteady.
Brady's rough fingertips pressed against the soft fabric of her dress, and she could feel the strength in his fingers.
It was a man's strength, powerful and profound.
With just a bit more force, he could grip her waist tightly.
The thought was shameful, bringing to mind intimate moments.
Violet forced herself to stay calm, knowing she needed to get used to this kind of intimacy with Brady.
There would even be sexual relations in the future.
"If you're fine with anything, that makes it a bit difficult," Brady said slowly, his warm breath heating the back of her neck.
Her breath became unsteady again, and she bit her lip. "Let's have some Italian cuisine then."
"Alright, I'll have my assistant make a reservation," Brady said, satisfied. He took out his phone and called Eddy to book a restaurant.
After the call, he tossed his phone onto the desk, reached out to play with a strand of her hair, and noticed the report she was holding tightly. "What are you holding?"
"This is material from the PR department. I forgot to give it to you," Violet said, handing it to him.
"Why do you have materials from the PR department?" Brady was curious, as there didn't seem to be much business between the PR department and JK.
"I ran into someone from the department on the way, and she gave it to me," Violet replied calmly.
Brady didn't suspect anything, casually flipping through the materials. "I have a private party tonight. Care to join?"
"Private party? With whom?" Violet asked, not really wanting to go.
"Arthur Stanley, you know him," Brady said slowly.
"Okay," Violet said, but worried the party might run late. "Will it be very late?"
"No," Brady said, knowing she would mention Hellen not allowing her to stay out too late. "Don't worry, we'll just sit for a while and then leave."
Violet thought for a moment and nodded. "Okay."
