Chapter 938 Am I stupid

Following closely behind Miles was his burly subordinate, dragging Julie along.

Julie saw the unfamiliar island and the fierce-looking men, and the thought of being killed soon made her tremble with fear and start crying.

"Please, let me go," she pleaded. "I'm scared."

When Violet was still conscious, Julie could pretend to be calm, but now that Violet had been knocked out by Miles and they had broken their promise by capturing her again, she felt completely lost and overwhelmed.

Her hair was disheveled, and she couldn't stop crying.

"Shut up," the subordinate holding her snapped, clearly irritated by her sobbing.

Julie, terrified by his outburst, only cried harder. "You're going to kill me anyway, can't I at least cry?"

"Ignore her," Miles said, his focus solely on getting Violet back to the base.

As for Julie, she was going to be killed eventually.

If she wanted to cry, so be it.

With Miles' command, the burly man stopped scolding her and roughly dragged her into the Humvee.

The other subordinates, who had come to meet them, were more focused on Miles.

They were puzzled.

Wasn't Miles into wild, seductive women?

The woman in his arms didn't fit that description at all.

Her skin tone and features didn't match their people; she looked more like someone from Crestoria.

Who was this woman, and why was Miles bringing her back?

Unable to figure it out, they kept their questions to themselves and headed back to the base.

Once at the base, Miles ordered his men to lock Julie in a secure room.

He then carried Violet straight to the highest commander's office.

As he hurried down the long corridor, every base member they passed was shocked to see Miles carrying an unfamiliar girl who wasn't from Vesperia.

When they reached the commander's office, Miles had his men open the door to the luxurious adjoining bedroom.

He tossed Violet onto the soft bed and looked down at her unconscious form.

His eyes were deep and unreadable, devoid of any lecherous intent, filled instead with an enigmatic emotion.

The subordinates who had followed him respectfully exited, leaving the two of them alone in the room.

Miles glanced at Violet for a moment before pressing a button by the bed.

Shortly after, a middle-aged woman hurried in.

"Mr. Gibson, what do you need?" she asked, bowing slightly.

"Stay here and take care of her. When she wakes up, don't let her leave this room," Miles instructed before leaving to discuss Julie's execution with his men.

Meanwhile, Brady, who had been hiding in a room down the hallway, was growing impatient.

He had seen Miles return, carrying Violet, who appeared to be unconscious. How could he stand by and do nothing?

He clenched his fists and turned to Arthur. "You stay here. I'm going to confront him."

Arthur frowned and grabbed Brady, stopping him from rushing out. "Are you crazy? How are you going to handle all of them by yourself?"

"Am I supposed to just let him carry my wife away? Do you think I'm an idiot?" Brady's teeth were clenched, and the veins on his forehead bulged with anger.

"We need a plan," Arthur insisted, trying to calm him down. "Violet will be fine. Their main target is Julie, and they probably won't harm Violet because of you."

Brady took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "We need someone to distract them," he said, thinking out loud.
