Chapter 755 I'm Fine, Sorry for Frightening Mrs. Hall

"What happened?" Calliope and Violet shouted at the same time when they heard the scream.

Calliope glanced toward the shop and said, "Violet, stay here. I'll check it out."

Violet nodded, "Okay."

Calliope sprinted toward the shop. Inside, Charlotte was clutching her bleeding wrist with one hand and holding a bag of rice cakes with the other.

She leaned against a pillar, shivering in pain.

The attacker was nowhere to be seen.

Calliope rushed to her side, alarmed. "Charlotte, what happened?"

"I was buying these rice cakes for Mrs. Hall, but someone tried to snatch my purse. When I resisted, they cut my wrist," Charlotte said weakly.

"Don't talk. I'll get you to the hospital," Calliope said, glancing at her bleeding wrist.

Charlotte didn't argue and let Calliope help her find Violet.

As they walked, drops of blood from Charlotte's wrist splattered onto the sidewalk, forming a trail of crimson spots.

Seeing this, Calliope felt a pang of guilt.

She should have gone with her.

With her bodyguards around, nothing would have happened.

Feeling remorseful, Calliope quickly reached Violet.

Violet was shocked to see the blood on Charlotte's wrist.

"What happened to her hand?"

Calliope was about to explain, but Charlotte spoke first, her voice frail and pale. "Mrs. Hall, I'm fine. I'm sorry, the rice cakes I bought got a bit dirty."

She handed the blood-stained rice cakes to Violet.

Violet was stunned and didn't take them.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot. They're dirty now," Charlotte said, quickly retracting her hand. "I'll buy you new ones later."

"No need. You should go to the hospital first," Violet said, noticing the amount of blood.

It was similar to last time. She didn't want any scars left.

"Okay," Charlotte nodded weakly.

"Take my car," Violet offered, glancing at the blood drops on the ground, feeling a bit moved.

Maybe Charlotte was different from Lilian after all.

The car quickly arrived at the hospital.

The same doctor who had treated her last time was on duty.

Seeing her wound, he couldn't help but comment, "Another scar."

He then took her inside to stop the bleeding and bandage her up.

Violet and Calliope waited outside the emergency room.

While they waited, Brady suddenly arrived.

He had been nearby on business and saw her car at the hospital.

Worried something had happened to her, he followed.

The tall man strode into the emergency room and, seeing Violet waiting, quickly approached her. "What happened? Are you okay?"

"No, it's not me," Violet turned to him. "How did you know I was here?"

"I was nearby and saw your car at the hospital. I was worried, so I followed," Brady said, taking her hand and checking her over for injuries.

Only when he saw she was unharmed did he relax.

"Charlotte got hurt buying rice cakes for me," Violet sighed.

Mentioning Charlotte, Brady's brow furrowed. "Why were you two together?"

"We had lunch together," Violet said, a bit helplessly. "I didn't expect this to happen."

"Mr. Hall, Mrs. Hall, I'm fine. I'm sorry for scaring you, Mrs. Hall," Charlotte said, emerging from the emergency room, her hand bandaged.

Hearing their conversation, she quickly took all the blame upon herself.

"No, Brady, it's my fault," Calliope said, seeing Charlotte apologize.

"Forget it. As long as everyone's okay," Brady said. He wasn't there to assign blame; he just cared if Violet was hurt.

Charlotte didn't want to miss the opportunity with Brady present.

She continued to play the innocent and noble victim. "Mrs. Hall, I'm sorry about today."

"You don't need to apologize to me. You're the one who got hurt," Violet said, feeling a bit guilty. "Are you okay now?"

"Yes, just a bandage," Charlotte said, raising her injured wrist for Violet to see. "Mrs. Hall, I'll buy you new rice cakes tomorrow."

"Thank you, but there's no need," Violet quickly declined.

She didn't want any more trouble.
