Chapter 511 He Had Always Liked Violet, But Unfortunately, Violet Had a Boyfriend
"Is there a charge for this? If there is, I won't eat it." Violet couldn't believe that the hospital would provide such high-end meals.
Something looked like it couldn't possibly be free.
The nurse, quickly said, "It really is from the hospital, Ms. Devereux. Please have a try. By the way, Do you feel any discomfort?"
The nurse, worried that Violet wouldn't eat, so she hurriedly changed the subject.
Violet touched her bandaged head and said, "It still hurts a little here."
"That's normal. You had a big cut from glass shards. Once it heals, you'll be fine," The nurse said as she gently checked the wound to see how it was healing.
"Okay, then I don't have any other discomfort," Violet continued.
"Then get some rest, and you'll recover soon." The nurse was about to leave, afraid that Violet would ask about the food again.
So she quickly picked up her clipboard, "By the way, Violet, please do taste this food. Otherwise, it would be a waste. Ms. Devereux, enjoy your meal."
The nurse quickly left.
Violet was instantly puzzled and turned to Max and said, "Mr. Green, what should I do about this?"
"Then just eat it. The nurse said it's a comforting meal package. It looks nutritious, and you could get recovery." Max supported the nurse's suggestion.
After all, he wanted Violet to recover quickly.
Violet could only accept. "Alright then, I'll try this comforting meal."
"I'll help you." Max uncovered the lids of the containers and took out the prepared fork.
Violet started eating slowly.
Max sat beside her. The sight of Violet'seating had an indescribable grace and tenderness that made his heart skip a beat.
He remembered their earlier conversation about her boyfriend.
He tentatively ask, "Violet, don't you need your boyfriend to come over?"
Violet's hand paused, and the tense expression on her face couldn't fool him. There was definitely something wrong between her and her boyfriend!
"Violet, is there some misunderstanding between you two?"
Violet quickly shook her head. "No, he's just really busy."
"No matter how busy, he shouldn't be ignoring you like this." Max didn't believe any man would neglect his girlfriend when she was injured.
"He's on a business trip." Violet didn't want to discuss Brady with Max, mainly because she knew Max liked her. But after the last date, she was very clear about one thing.
Men with better conditions wouldn't accept a woman who was pregnant before marriage. Especially a woman with two kids.
So she wouldn't give Max any chance.
"Really? I thought he was just ignoring you." If he was on a business trip, that made sense.
Max's expression was a bit disappointed.
He had always liked Violet, but Violet had a boyfriend.
