Chapter 1076 Stepped on the Gas and Headed Straight Towards Violet
"Sorry, I didn't mean to take it," Aria said, her voice tinged with regret.
Brady gave a polite smile. "No worries."
Aria nodded, her eyes briefly flicking to Violet with a hint of defiance. "I won't bother you two any longer."
With that, she turned to leave.
Violet suddenly spoke up, "Ms. Clark, this tie smells a bit off. Could you toss it?"
Brady looked at Violet curiously, while Aria's back stiffened, her expression shifting slightly before she turned to face Violet.
Violet's eyes were cold as she stared back at her.
"Mrs. Hall, this tie doesn't smell, does it? I made sure to wash it yesterday," Aria said, forcing a smile.
If Violet hadn't seen the security footage, she wouldn't have suspected anything wrong with the tie.
But she had seen it.
It disgusted her.
If Brady kept it, it would only make her feel worse.
"Why don't you smell it yourself?" Violet suggested deliberately.
Aria panicked a bit, staring at Violet, trying to read her expression.
Brady, holding her, lowered his voice in confusion, "What's going on?"
Violet turned to him and said softly, "It's nothing, let me handle it."
Brady didn't say more.
If Violet wanted to handle it, he would let her. Nothing was more important than standing by Violet.
"Mrs. Hall, I really did wash it. If you don't like it, I can wash it again?" Aria said, slowly approaching to take back the tie.
Violet smiled and said, "You can take it back. No matter how much you wash it, it still has a woman's scent. Brady won't want it."
Aria's brow furrowed, her face gradually darkening.
She was a smart woman. If she didn't catch Violet's hint the first time, she certainly did the second.
Violet continued, "There are security cameras in the office."
Aria's face turned ashen, her fingers clenching tightly, but she couldn't lose her composure. She forced herself to stay calm and said, "Alright, since Mrs. Hall doesn't want it, I'll take it back and wash it again."
"Mr. Hall, Mrs. Hall, I won't disturb you any longer." Aria took the tie, feeling extremely humiliated, and left the office in a hurry.
Once outside, her face turned pale. Did Violet see her... in the office?
Aria felt incredibly embarrassed.
But she had endured worse. This small setback was nothing to her.
Feeling increasingly frustrated, Aria left, thinking about how to get back at Violet.
So she waited for Violet to come down.
In the office, Brady asked, "What was that about?"
Violet shook her head, not wanting to tell him something so disgusting. "Nothing. I'm investigating the fire on set. If I find out Aria was involved, Grandma won't protect her, right?"
Brady's eyes darkened. "No, not after what she's done. No one will protect her."
"Do you think she did it?"
"No, just a guess." Violet didn't want to talk about it anymore. Today was a good day; she got the invitation and put Aria in her place. She didn't want her mood ruined. "Let's not talk about it. I'm hungry, let's go eat."
Brady, always attentive to her, gently lifted her and headed to the underground parking lot.
When they got there, Brady decided to drive himself today, so he went to get the car while Violet waited.
As she waited, Aria, who hadn't left yet, suddenly floored the gas pedal and drove straight at Violet.
Seeing the car speeding towards her, Violet stepped back in fright, nearly falling. Aria stopped just short of hitting her, then lowered the window and said, "Sorry, Mrs. Hall, I'm a new driver. Are you okay?"
Violet let out a cold laugh, glaring at her.
Did she think Violet was stupid?
Violet turned away without a word and went to Brady, who was in the driver's seat. "Honey, let me drive."
If it were a matter of crashing cars, who wasn't a new driver?
