Chapter 299 Brady Asked Her to Come Over
"Of course, not going is impossible," Violet put Nicole down and said to Hellen, "Auntie, I have something to do and need to go out for a bit."
"So late and you still need to go out? What's the matter?" Hellen didn't suspect anything; she was just concerned about Violet's safety, so she asked out of care.
"It's nothing, I'm just preparing for an interview with a new company," Violet said as she got up. "The supervisor over there asked to meet at a coffee shop to talk. The supervisor is a woman, so don't worry, Auntie." Violet lied nervously, feeling more and more guilty as she spoke.
Hellen's trust in Violet was unwavering, leaving her unsuspicious about oddities like late-night interviews.
Hellen just reminded her, "Be careful on the way, and come back early after the interview."
Violet nodded and went to the second-floor bedroom to change clothes.
However, Violet didn't plan to dress up. When meeting Brady these days, she preferred to look sloppy.
So Violet didn't choose a nice dress, just casually picked a white T-shirt and a pair of light brown casual pants, tied her hair with a rubber band, and didn't put on any makeup.
Completely bare-faced.
To look even more disheveled, Violet deliberately messed up her hair after tying it.
Seeing her messy appearance, Hellen was puzzled and said, "Why don't you dress up a bit? Your hair is all messy."
Violet put on her shoes at the entrance, "I'll fix my hair when I get out. These clothes are fine. I'm interviewing for a designer position, not a job that requires good looks. Comfort is key."
Hellen thought for a moment and agreed. "That's true." Dressing up too nicely at night wouldn't be appropriate, even if the interviewer is a woman.
So she let Violet be.
Violet opened the door and went out, but as soon as she did, the two little ones became anxious at the thought of being left behind, and they were scared. So Henry and Nicole ran over and hugged her legs, not letting her go.
Especially Nicole, who started crying, shaking her head and not letting her leave, looking so pitiful that it made Violet's heart ache. She didn't want to leave either, if it weren't for Brady calling her over.
Henry also hugged Violet's leg, not letting her go. "Mommy, don't go..."
Violet had no choice but to squat down and comfort her two babies. "Mommy will be back soon. When I come back, I'll sleep with you, okay?"
Nicole shook her head; she wanted to go out with Mommy.
Henry felt the same.
Violet had to patiently coax them until they finally let go, and she could leave.
When she got outside the mansion, the refreshing night breeze blew on Violet's face, feeling a bit comfortable, but she wasn't relaxed at all. She had been nervous since she left the house.
Violet thought about how late it was and Brady asking her to come over. What if something happened?
Her mind was a mess, like a tangled ball of yarn. Even though she had agreed to date Brady, she couldn't immediately let down her guard and do anything with him.
Lost in her thoughts, Violet finally found Mansion No. 2, which seemed more luxurious and larger than Emily's mansion. She stood at the door for a while, hesitating before pressing the doorbell.
Soon, the vintage sandalwood door was opened by the housekeeper who had previously cleaned and cooked at Brady's place. The housekeeper was momentarily stunned by Violet's disheveled appearance, then recognized her and smiled. "Ms. Devereux, you're finally here. Mr. Hall had a bit too much to drink tonight and is sitting on the sofa now!"
Violet responded and followed her inside. In the bright and luxurious living room, she indeed saw Brady leaning on the sofa, massaging his temples.
The huge, dazzling Baroque crystal chandelier above the living room cast a bright white light over Brady, as if enveloping him in a hazy glow.
His handsome appearance was almost mesmerizing.
Violet glanced at him, instinctively pursed her lips, and then walked over.
