Chapter 12 She Deliberately Plots Against Him
Violet sat on the bus lost in thought.
However, her professional skirt and white shirt were still slightly damp from the tea that had been spilled on them earlier, making her feel uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, she didn't have any spare clothes with her.
Moreover, the damp spots made her underlying skin faintly visible, which was quite enticing. As she walked towards the bus stop, passersby couldn't help but take notice of her appearance, casting glances in her direction.
All the attention made Violet feel extremely embarrassed, so she quickly lowered her head and hurriedly walked forward. But this wasn't a solution. As long as her clothes remained damp, people around her would surely continue to stare at her.
Violet felt helpless and awkward. Should she use napkins to cover the wet spots from the inside? Otherwise, the people on the bus would also have their eyes on her.
Violet quickly thought of using her bag to shield the damp shirt and hurried to a nearby billboard.
Luckily, the billboard was right against the wall, so as long as one didn't pass by from this angle, they wouldn't see her.
She quickly opened her bag, took out a napkin, and lifted the edge of her shirt to tuck it in.
However, just as she was tucking it in, Brady's black Bentley happened to drive by from her side. The man sitting in the back turned his head to look outside, and coincidentally, saw Violet lifting her white shirt and stuffing a napkin in.
It was an extremely tantalizing scene. Especially the part of her skin that was exposed when she lifted her shirt, which reflected a white glow under the sunlight. It was alluring, not in a vulgar way, but with a kind of charm that could attract a man's gaze.
Brady sat in the car, not too close but not too far, observing her. His black eyes were like a quiet pool hidden deep in an abyss, showing no emotions, but the only thing that could be seen was a slight furrow in his brows.
This woman...she's truly damned… she’s able to tempt people. Is this one of her talents?
Brady's prejudice against her still hadn't changed, and it was likely that no woman in his lifetime would dare to scheme against him and then sleep with him. And then afterwards, pretend to be pure and innocent?
It really made him feel particularly annoyed and disgusted.
But why, even though he felt so repulsed, whenever he saw her, images from a year ago in the hotel bed would occasionally flash in his mind, scenes of fiery ambiguity.
He vividly remembered some fragments from that night.
Though it made him angry, he had to admit that deep down, he enjoyed the sweetness and softness that came after.
That softness was a taste he couldn't forget.
However...just knowing that all of this was deliberately planned by her to climb into his bed. Despite how good the taste was, he would never consider having any further encounters with her or looking for her!
Brady withdrew his gaze, pressed his temple with his hand, and tried not to think about Violet. He then picked up the notebook beside him, flipped it open, and started reviewing the reports that were written on it.
After Brady's Bentley sped past, Violet naturally didn't notice. She continued to lower her head, folding the napkin into her damp shirt, and made her way to the bus stop.
She realized that she would be back at the company around 1:45 PM. Violet thought about working overtime tonight to finish Laura's tasks.
The task at hand left no room for rest, and without wasting a moment, she returned to her desk and immersed herself in the complicated work.
She worked continuously until evening, when everyone else had already left for the day, except for the director Max and Violet, who were both working overtime.
The entire design company was empty and devoid of life. The silence was eerie, with only the sound of Violet repeatedly adjusting and tearing fabric on the pattern samples.
Violet was completely absorbed in her work. Feeling famished, she decided to first go to the employee cafeteria at the Hall family to have a meal. After finishing her meal, she returned to continue working.
Just as she entered the company, Director Max walked out of his office holding a folder. He immediately called out to Violet, "Violet, come here."
"What does Mr. Green want?" Violet walked over.
Max glanced at her and handed her the folder, saying, "Take this document to Mr. Hall's office on the top floor. Tell him it's our JK's work plan arrangement for the second half of the year and ask him to review it."
But Violet, holding the folder, froze as if she had been shocked by electricity. For a moment, she forgot to speak and looked at Max in a somewhat bewildered manner.
"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" Max asked, concerned, noticing her unnatural expression.
Violet hastily shook her head, regained her composure, and forced a fake smile, saying, "No...no problem." But in reality, she had a lot of problems.
She didn't want to go up there, and she certainly didn't want to see Brady.
But all the other designers had left the company, including Mr. Green's personal assistant who had also finished work.
It was just the two of them in the entire JK company.
As an intern designer, she couldn't possibly boss Mr. Green around, right?
Violet was really frustrated.
What should she do?
"Well, hurry and give it to Mr. Hall. At this time, Mr. Hall should still be in the office. Otherwise, if you're late, he'll leave," Max urged her to get the task done, oblivious to Violet's anxious mood.
Violet could only take the document and bravely head up to the top floor.
The top floor was on the 50th floor.
The view was extremely wide, overlooking the entire capital city.
Moreover, the corridor connecting to the CEO's office had glass floor-to-ceiling windows on one side.
